(BEND, Ore.) - A Salem-area man died Sunday from injuries he sustained in a Saturday afternoon three-vehicle crash on Highway 97 near Sunriver. Eight others were injured in the crash which is still under investigation by Oregon State Police troopers from the Bend Area Command office. According to OSP Senior Trooper Tim Holbrook, on Sunday, February 19, 2011 at about 3:10 p.m. a 2006 Nissan pickup driven by 48-year old Stacy Cordaway, from Shingle Springs, California was northbound on Highway 97 near milepost 154 when it lost control. It slid sideways into the southbound lane where it collided with a 1986 Suzuki Samari sport utility vehicle driven by 41-year old Herbert E. Kroschel III, from Salem. The Suzuki then continued over a guardrail and down an embankment. The Nissan then collided with a southbound 2006 Suzuki Sidekick sport utility vehicle driven by 55-year old Leland J. Wilson, from Tigard. The Nissan and Suzuki Sidekick came to rest in the southbound lanes.
