Amber Alert Canceled in Massachusetts

Authorities say the child was considered to be in extreme danger.

Officials say they are still looking for the suspect, Kimberly Johnson.

(SWANSEA, Mass.) - The State of Massachusetts canceled an Amber Alert Thursday afternoon, 18 Feb. 2010, after a girl was recovered, after reportedly being abducted, in Swansea earlier Thursday.

Authorities said the child was considered to be in extreme danger.

The white female infant is now safe.

Police say the suspect, Kimberly Johnson, remains at large. She is described as a white female, 38 years old with brown hair and brown eyes. She's 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs 140 pounds.

The suspect's vehicle is a a silver 2004-2005 Ford Focus with a Minnesota license number 677AVK.

The officials did not state whether Johnson is a relative, or a stranger, if she is someone police are familiar with, etc. They do state their extreme concern with this individual, just no explanation.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Massachusetts State Police at 508-820-2121 or dial 911.
