Bomb Scare Closes All Chemeketa Campuses

The 10am threat deadline has come and gone.

(SALEM, Ore.) - A call came in to the Marion County Sheriff's office this morning and said there was bomb at Chemeketa Community College, set to go off at 10:00 a.m. The threat was not specific to which location, so all Chemeketa campus' were closed, and students evacuated.

An automated text system alerted all the students and staff not to report to Chemeketa or outreach centers until 11:00 a.m.

Officials swept the buildings and at this time have not found any suspect objects. A purse was located at the Brooks campus, but it is not a threat.
