Egyptian Peoples Victory is Cause for Celebration in Gaza

Gazans, with so many challenges for their own party, were in a state of jubilation; car horns honking, flags waving, children chanting "peace!"

(GAZA) - A parade of hundreds or thousands marched through the streets of Gaza to celebrate the news about Egypt's successful Revolution. People standing on trailers powered by horse-drawn carts cheered; PA systems broadcasted the good news and played music.

People were dancing in the streets.

There is just joy here in Gaza, it's not just a victory for the people in Egypt or Tunisia, it's a victory for people all around the world.

There's no stopping it, it's only the beginning. Zionism, American imperialism- over! Over- definitely over.

People here in Palestine know what's next, they're going to be free next, it's coming.

There should be little surprise that celebrations in Gaza were held for the the Egyptian people's victory in this 2011 Global Revolution. Who knows more about the need for liberation than the 1.5 million residents of Gaza who live in an open-air prison cut off from even the most basic human needs.

Their showing during this celebration was unforgettable.

Three days ago Israel attacked a medical storage building in Gaza, greatly reducing their amount of medical supplies.

Israel's battle to further impoverish this captive population was seen this week in my report and video published on Salem-News.com 9 February: Israel Bombs Gaza's 3rd Largest Medical Storage Supply Building. A large building used by the Ministry of Health to store sorely needed medical supplies was struck by Israeli fighter jets which also damaged a number of existing structures.

Israeli Defence Forces issued a press release on the matter stating:

"Overnight, the IAF targeted a terror tunnel in the central Gaza Strip, a terror activity site in the northern Gaza Strip and a second terror activity site in the central Gaza Strip. Direct hits were confirmed. Secondary blasts were identified in two of the three targets."

"Terror tunnel"? As the report you can catch at the above link shows, Israel simply used American made F-16 jet fighters to target the building where the MOH stores much needed medicines and other medical equipment. The images in the video clearly refute the lies of Israel once again.

The understanding of each deadly event like the one this week increasingly show Israel to be the only 'terrorist' government in the Middle east. There is never an acceptable reason for such violence. They claim the 9 February attacks were in response to:

"intensive rocket fire into Israeli territory over the course of the day; five military-use projectiles were fired from the Gaza Strip landing in southern Israel. Over fourty mortar shells, Qassam rockets and Grad Rockets were fired from the Gaza Strip and landed in Israeli territory since the beginning of 2011."

Even if this dubious report was true, how is targeting a medical facility a proper response? It pays to remember that Israel's endless US funding for military equipment allows the Jewish state to have the world's most advanced targeting technology. Everything Israel strikes, it means to strike.

(Editor's note: Salem-News.com has made a formal inquiry with the Israeli Defence Forces Public Appeals section asking why no mention of the destruction of the medical storage facility was made in their official press release in which they do admit to striking numerous targets in Gaza)
