Feb-10-2015 12:51TweetFollow @OregonNews Brilliant Director-Producer-Truthteller Anthony Lawson RememberedBonnie King Salem-News.comSalem-News.com is sad to share this news of Anthony's passing, the 8th of January, 2015 in Phuket, Thailand, at the age of 79.
(SALEM, Ore.) - Anthony Charles Ashton Lawson was born on March 31st, 1935 to Lionel Lawson; a violinist and leader of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, and Queenie Ashton; a renowned soprano radio actress, whom he quoted often. "You're not the only pebble on the beach," he shared recently with friend and Editor Debbie Menon. In early life he sought work in the field of radio, making a name for himself as one of the best radio editors in Australia, later moving to the UK where he progressed into camera work, eventually becoming an award-winning commercial director and producer, having shot advertisements across Europe, in the US and in Asia. Anthony Lawson was an international prize-winning commercial director, cameraman, ad-agency creative director and voice over talent. He used to be known for shooting humorous commercials, but as he learned more about the world and why things are the way they are, he found less to laugh about, and instead found his passion about sharing the truth. He moved to Hong Kong to take up positions as creative director, and also lent his voice to various commercials; most notably to Cathay Pacific and Star TV. Having always enjoyed tinkering, he turned to invention, moved to Thailand and created a food mixer known as ChefMaker, which did not see success due to the global shock that was 9/11. Having always valued the truth and having always taken a stand against injustice throughout his life; traits his son says were passed down to him by his mother, he spent his final years using his vast experience to shed light on the events of 9/11 and the terrible world events that have since followed. "After recovering from the shock of seeing the Twin Towers collapse, on subsequent showings, I developed a strong feeling that what I was seeing and what I was being told were quite different things," Anthony said. "For two such buildings to collapse, in the manner they did, solely because they had been hit by large aircraft, did not make sense. The collapses were too uniform. "If aircraft impacts were the cause, at least one of the buildings should have fallen over. I subsequently made a video called "WTC7 -- This is an Orange" to express my concern that the public was not being told the truth about 9/11." We were proud to have Anthony Lawson on board as one of our most esteemed writers at Salem-News.com. He brought much healthy discussion to the table, and his work was a blessing to all that seek the truth, whether it is difficult to understand and/or accept, or not. Life's full of those special, sometimes challenging moments, and Anthony Lawson did not want to miss a thing. In the end, the cancer was discovered on New Year's Eve, far too late to have anything done, and his mental state as a result was too erratic for him to truly know what was wrong. The months leading up to his death were filled with much anguish and confusion, as after an operation to fix his inguinal hernia there were a series of follow-ups and other procedures to determine the causes of the severe back pain that followed. Anthony Lawson passed away on the 8th of January, 2015 in Phuket, Thailand, at the age of 79 due to colon cancer. He is survived by two sons and a daughter. The medical costs have placed the family in a tight situation, so if anyone would like to make a donation, however small, please send an email to lawson911@gmail.com.
