(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Police in Portland say this morning at about 9:00 a.m., a passerby spotted the body of a white female floating in the Willamette River under a dock at the Greenway Landing Boat Club behind the Landing Condominiums at 5300 Landing Square. Deputy Paul H. (Mac) McRedmond, Public Information Officer with the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office, says the woman is between five foot two inches and five foot four inches tall. She weighs between 100 and 110 pounds, and is between 50 to 60 years old. McRedmond says the woman has dyed red hair, brown cordoroy pants and a red long sleeve shirt. She was not wearing shoes or socks. She also was wearing a stud ear ring in each ear, a gold wedding band on the left hand, and a yin/yang (Chinese symbol) ring on the right index finger. "The woman had no identification on her. There are no signs of foul play although MCSO is treating this as a suspicious incident," McRedmond said. Portland Police Bureau Missing Person Detectives have been conducting a search of all databases for reported missing persons, with no luck so far, according to McRedmond. "Entries have been made in those databases so reports of matching missing persons can be flagged for investigation. MCSO detectives have checked numerous vehicles in nearby parking lots, especially at Willamette Park, upstream from where she was found, but have found no vehicles with registered owner(s) matching this woman's description." McRedmond says an autopsy is scheduled to determine time and cause of death.
