Two Die from Crash into Tow Truck on Highway 211

The crash left the highway blocked at milepost 7.5, between Kropf Road and Barlow Rd., east of Woodburn.

(WOODBURN, Ore.) - Oregon State Police responded to a fatal traffic crash Sunday evening on Highway 211 near S. Kropf Road. This is the highway connecting Molalla and Woodburn.

Senior Trooper Duane Larson with Oregon State Police, told Salem-News.com, "It was a two-vehicle crash, two vehicles involved, one vehicle sustained two fatalities."

One of the vehicles in this crash was a flatbed tow truck traveling south on State Highway 211, according to Larson.

"The other vehicle involved was a pick-up, it was essentially southbound on Canby-Markham Road. The pick-up traveled onto State Route 211 in front of the flatbed tow truck, and was struck in the side by the tow truck, on the driver's side."

There is no detour available for this section of road. Motorists should expect a lengthy closure for a law enforcement investigation.

There was no additional information available at this point.

The names of the deceased will be announced after next-of-kin have been notified.

The double fatal crash remains under investigation by Oregon State Police.

Troopers on the scene of this crash were assisted by other agencies including the Oregon Department of Transportation.
