(SALEM ,Ore.) - The Oregon Lottery’s quarterly transfer of $164.3 million to the State’s Economic Development Fund on January 28th 2008, was the third largest ever since the Lottery began selling tickets in 1985.

The largest quarterly transfer, $208.7 million, was recorded for the quarter ending September 2007. The second largest transfer of $167.7 million was for the quarter ending in September 2006.

The latest transfer, for the quarter ending December 31st 2007, includes $15.8 million from “traditional” Lottery games such as Powerball, Megabucks, Keno, and Scratch-its, and $144.5 million from Video Lottery games. Also included in the transfer were administrative savings of $3.9 million.

"The Lottery’s mission to maximize profits for the State of Oregon is certainly reflected in this latest transfer," said Oregon Lottery Director Dale Penn.

"Thanks to our players, statewide retail selling network, and dedicated staff, the Lottery is able to provide funds that contribute to valuable programs throughout Oregon."
