(SCAPOOSE, Ore.) - The Columbia County Sheriff's Office has identified the bodies of two adults found dead in their home a mile south of Scappoose earlier today. 61-year old Carolyn Ann LeBlanc and 41-year old Deric James Fox, succumbed to homicidal violence in their home, police say, and their bodies were discovered a little before 9:30 a.m. when concerned neighbors gained access to their residence. Deputies responding to the scene requested the assistance of the Columbia County Major Crimes Team. Investigators from the Scappoose, and Saint Helens police departments responded, as did investigators from the Oregon State Police. The investigation is being coordinated by Oregon State Police. "Identification of the deceased was delayed until next of kin could be notified," Columbia County Sheriff Jeff Dickerson said. "This investigation is centered around the home in which the victims appear to have been residing, and we do not believe at this time that there is any threat to the community," he said. The investigation is ongoing and few details have been confirmed at this point by police. "We will continue to assess the progress of the investigation and provide what information we are able to release as soon as we know it," Dickerson said.
