(STAYTON, Ore.) - A residential fire in Stayton that left a residence substantially damaged, drew response from additional units with Marion County Fire, as well as both the Jefferson and Turner Fire Districts.

After arriving at the location, Jerry determined that in spite of significant damage, there were no injuries related to this particular incident.

However it is the best possible time to please ensure that your smoke detectors are working and do everything to keep from becoming a holiday fire statistic.

What we do know is that the holiday season is a time that results in terrible disaster for families all over the nation every year.

The risk of fire rises with the use of various types of holiday lighting, and Christmas trees can become dry and flammable very quickly which turns them into a waiting fuel for a spark.

We learned yesterday that a Yule log fire may be to blame in horrific Christmas tragedy in Stamford, Connecticut that claimed the lives of five people.

"that left a residents substantially damaged"

So, the "residents" were damaged, but what happened to the "residence"?

Editor: Thanks, correction made.  Can we blame it on the late night? LOL
