Christmas in Heaven

Merry Christmas and God bless every family who has lost a loved one due to the tsunami of prescription drugs.

Christmas tree

(MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.) - This poem was written by a 13 year old boy who died of a brain tumor that he had battled for four years.

He died on December 14, 1997.

He gave this to his mom before he died.

His name was Ben.

I added the names of just some of the young people who have died because of the prescription drug epidemic and the pharmaceutical company, Purdue Pharma who lied about the addictive and abusive qualities of OxyContin.

CHRISTMAS IN HEAVEN

I see the countless Christmas trees around the world below
Emily Jackson born February 22, 1988 - died on August 18, 2006 at the age of 18
With tiny lights, like heaven’s stars, reflecting on the snow.
Joshua Sam Kresser born September 29, 1981 - died on September 30, 2006 at 25
It’s all so very beautiful, please wipe away that tear
Casey Washburn born in 1984 and died at the age of 24
For I’m spending Christmas
Michael Giudice born May 23, 1975 - died June 10, 2004 at the age of 29
With Jesus Christ this year.

I hear the many Christmas songs that people hold so dear
Anthony F. Kirk born September 19, 1983 - died March 19, 2007 at age 23
But the music can’t compare with the Christmas choir up here.
Joseph V. Karcher born November 10, 1979 - died April 16, 2008 at age 28
I have no words to tell you, the joy their voices bring,
Peter Angstadt III born June 29, 1991 - died December 29, 2008 at age 17-1/2
For it’s way beyond description,
Ronnie Powell III born May 3, 1989 - died October 13, 2008 at age 19
The way the angels sing.

I know how much you miss me.  I see the pain in your heart.
Michael Duffy born August 8, 1987 - died October 28, 2009 at age 21
But I’m not so far away, and we really aren’t apart.
Kyle Crawford born May 26, 1986 - died May 5, 2009 at age 22
So be happy for me, dear ones, you know I hold you near.

And be glad I’m spending Christmas
Stephen Rocco born September 29, 1986 - died January 31, 2008 at age 21
With Jesus Christ this year.

I send you each a memory of my undying love.
Patrick Gallagher born July 15, 1997 - died April 30, 2009 at age 22
Remember you will always have my love

I know how much you miss me, I see the pain in your heart.
Heather Heuer born December 7, 1984 - died May 26, 2009 at age 24
But I’m not so far away, and we really aren’t apart.

You know our love will always be a gift worth more than gold.
Kyle Houck born June 22, 1985 - died August 10, 2007 at age 22
It was always cold and foreign
Robin John Rice born April 4, 1982 - died May 15, 2006 at age 23
 In the stories Jesus told.

Please love and keep each other as our Father said to do.
Patrick Stewart born April 27, 1980 - died July 9, 2004 - 24 years old
And count the many blessings of love He has for you.

So have a Merry Christmas, and wipe away that tear.
Ethan Woods born August 5, 1988 - died February 5, 2009 - 20 years old
For I’m spending my Christmas

With Jesus Christ this year.
Joseph John Rovero III born March 9, 1988 - died December 18, 2009 - 21 years old
Yes I’m spending my Christmas
Eddie Bisch born September 2, 1982 - died February 19, 2001 - 18 years old
 With Jesus Christ this year
And for every family dealing with the loss of a child due to the prescription drug epidemic.
Oh it’s Christmas time in heaven this year.

Merry Christmas in heaven my baby girl!

The above poem is dedicated to the tens of thousands of families who have lost children to the prescription drug epidemic we are fighting throughout the U.S. and Canada.

In 2012, I will continue my efforts to hold the Federal Drug Administration (FDA) accountable for allowing dangerous drugs such as OxyContin to be prescribed for moderate pain -- and not "severe" pain. I will continue my efforts in exposing pharmaceutical companies who fund pain societies, in particular the American Pain Foundation (APF).

The APF markets the "undertreatment of pain" when we have an epidemic of pain medications being prescribed for every level of pain.

OxyContin is being over-manufactured by Purdue Pharma so it hits the streets. I will continue to challenge the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) as to why they close their eyes to the criminal production of OxyContin. And as for "pill mill doctors and pharmacies", there are parents in every state working hard to expose you and close your lucrative businesses down to prevent other parents from mourning the loss of their child at Christmas. Merry Christmas and God bless every family who has lost a loved one due to the tsunami of prescription drugs -- but wakes up every morning to fight the battle in the name of their child in heaven.

They are the true, unselfish heroes -- and are doing the job the FDA and DEA should be doing to protect families from losing loved ones.

The pharmaceutical industry cannot be allowed to continue to reap billions of dollars in marketing strategies to push their dangerous drugs -- while the FDA admits they don't have the manpower to police them. LP -- Another Christmas to cherish with you. I love you and look forward to 2012 and our continued journey in faith, love, goals and peace.

I am a parent of an addict. I am so thankful she is still alive. This is our 1st Christmas in many years that we have been together. It so hard for us (all parents) to see how this disease destroys ones life and they (our children) have to pay such a huge price for that one mistake. That's all it takes is once and they are in for the fight of there lives, many of which are lost. Yes we do have to cry out loud to every power that can rid how drug companies, doctors and dentists over medicate people. Write, call your state, local even national government, make noise, help rid the disease and the stigma of drug addiction. Then pray with all your being to whomever your "Higher Power" is, for yours and everyones child/parent/sibling.

For Ms. Skolik: fuel for your fire: dentists give out oxy for a pulled tooth-how incredible is that?

This drug should be banned! It is one of the only drugs I know that takes over one self control and self worth!! Whatever age you are it attacks your brain and destroy your worth living any normal life! God help us remove this drug from Purdue....it from this earth! God hear our prayers!
