One Man Shot, Police Seek Shooter

The Suspect is described as a Hispanic male, early 20's, approximately 5'8" in height and stocky build.

(SALEM OR) - One man is shot in the arm tonight when he was walking along Silverton Rd NE in Salem.

Police say the suspect fired multiple shots at the victim before fleeing the scene in the sedan which was last seen traveling westbound on Silverton Rd NE.

At 6:32 p.m., officers of the Salem police department responded to a report of a shooting at Silverton Rd NE and Williams Ave NE.

Upon their arrival, they located a 21-year old Hispanic male who had sustained a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the arm.

The victim was transported to Salem Hospital for treatment.

It was determined that a dark colored sedan drove up to the victim as he walked on Silverton Rd NE.

The suspect, described as a Hispanic male, early 20's, approximately 5'8" in height with a stocky build, exited the sedan and exchanged a few words with the victim before displaying a handgun.

This incident is being investigated as gang related.
