(SHERIDAN, Ore.) - Snow began falling in Oregon today and much of the western half of the state is now coated in powdery white. Numerous schools and businesses are closing. Drivers need tire chains or studded tires to operate on many roads. Everyone needs to be careful, but it is also a time for people to enjoy the onset of the new season and the wonderment of winter. There is a Winter Weather Advisory in effect for the Central Willamette Valley of Oregon. For the cities of Salem, McMinnville, Dallas, Eugene, Corvallis and Albany, the Weather Advisory remains in effect until 10:00 PM this evening. Moist air will be riding over a modified Arctic front which is over the southern Willamette Valley. This is producing bands of show that will continue off and on throughout the evening. Expect 2 To 4 Inches Of Snow, and some Reports of 1 to nearly 3 inches have been reported around the Salem area so far, according to the National Weather Service. Arctic air will continue to flow up the Willamette Valley with temperatures falling throughout the night. Water from earlier showers will freeze on the roads below the snow creating very slick conditions. A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow will cause some travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities and use caution while driving. Thank you for capturing this snowy video and sharing it with us... I enjoyed the piano song so much that I would like to know the artist's name and how to get the entire collection of this music. It presented a very beautiful twist to the original! Thank you, Chrissy
