(MILL CITY, OR) - A Marion County deputy and his canine partner helped nab a man authorities describe as a wanted felon with numerous warrants for his arrest. Marion County Sheriff's Deputy Jason Bernards and his K9 partner Rolo were called to help the Linn County Sheriff's Office in the 400 block of SW Ivy Street in Mill City December 8th at 9:35 p.m. Linn County Deputies had attempted to arrest Clinton Swearigen age 30 on several outstanding warrants when he fled into a vacant residence. The residence was surrounded by law enforcement from the Linn and Marion County Sheriff Office's. Attempts to negotiate with Mr. Swearigen were made and several warnings were given prior to the release of Rolo however, Mr. Swearigen refused to surrender. Rolo located Mr. Swearigen hiding inside of a closet in the vacant residence and seized Mr. Swearigen. Mr. Swearigen resisted Rolo and Deputies until he was handcuffed. Mr. Swearigen was treated at a local hospital for minor injuries during his arrest. He is currently in the Linn County Jail for the charges of Burglary in the First Degree, Unlawful Entry of a Motor Vehicle, four outstanding Bench Warrants and Theft in the Third Degree.
