(KEIZER, Ore.) - Keizer Police officers responded to a report of a gun shot wound at 1:14 p.m. today, in a single family home on Pleasant View Drive NE. Keizer Police Captain Jeff Kuhns, says that upon their arrival, officers found an adult female and an adult male had both received a gunshot injury. "Medics responded and both individuals were transported to the Salem Hospital where they are being treated at this time. Both individuals are married to each other and are in their early 60's." Kuhns says the extent of their injuries, the number of gunshots and the type of weapon believed to have been used are not being released at this time. Detectives are at the residence and Salem Hospital collecting evidence and investigating the circumstances surrounding this incident, Kuhns said. "The preliminary investigation indicates the shooting was isolated to the interior of the residence; however the circumstances that led to the discharge of the firearm are still being investigated. Additionally, investigators believe the two injured individuals were the only two individuals inside the residence at the time of the incident." Kuhns says there is no reason to believe anyone from the public is in any danger. Anyone having information about this incident is asked to contact Detective Ben Howden at the Keizer Police Department at 503-390-3713. Kuhns says more information will be released when it is available and appropriate.
