Dec-04-2010 11:59TweetFollow @OregonNews What Really Happened to Meredith Kercher?Ron Hendry for Salem-News.comReconstruction Shows the Details of What Happened.
(DALLAS, Tx.) - As Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito prepare to appeal their convictions for murdering Meredith Kercher, a forensic expert has stepped forward with a detailed and precise reconstruction of the crime. Ron Hendry is blunt in his conclusion: "Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito would never have been regarded as persons of interest – much less suspects – had the police correctly done their job from the start," he says. Hendry is a forensic engineer whose specialty is accident reconstruction. He has analyzed upwards of 2,000 civil cases and testified many times with regard to his opinions. He has interfaced with and reviewed the work of police investigators on many cases. "Typically, with major accidents, the police have little time to spend on a job before having to move on," Hendry explains. "I come behind them and usually spend a great deal more time. In cases that occurred months or years before I was brought in, the most relevant evidence is a set of photos of the accident scene. My technique is to study these photos intensely and then acquire enough information to do a scale layout. My approach is to analyze and interpret the physical evidence and review how it corresponds with witness accounts. I never start with witness accounts in any analysis." Hendry has studied photos and videos from the Meredith Kercher murder scene, and he has applied his reconstruction methodology to figure out exactly what happened. Meredith was killed inside a small room with a regular grid of floor tiles – a setting well suited to Hendry's approach. "I made a scale layout of the room, using the floor tiles to determine the exact location of bloodstains and other elements of the crime scene," he explains. "I took a slow, methodical approach. I spent dozens of hours poring over the photos, looking at the details that reveal what happened." Hendry ended up with a reconstruction that shows precisely where and how Meredith and her attacker were positioned in the room at every phase of the brief struggle that ended her life. The confrontation began next to the bed, he says. Meredith stood up, the attacker seized her, and he quickly established a secure grip from behind her, with a knife blade pointed at the right side of her neck. During this initial struggle, they tripped over a small rug. The first stab wounds were shallow, and Hendry thinks the assailant may not have intended to kill her at that point. Something happened, however, to escalate the violence. Meredith and her attacker spun diagonally across the room. A violent struggle ensued next to the only window in the tiny room, during which the assailant tore at Meredith's hair. Then, the unspeakable happened. The attacker forced Meredith to her knees and plunged his knife up to the hilt in the left side of her throat. "It is obvious that this attack was the work of one enraged man, who acted entirely alone," says Hendry. He explains that in such a tiny space, the presence of multiple attackers would have been easy to detect, because they could not have avoided stepping in blood. They would also have blocked some of the blood spatter that ended up on the floor and on the door of the wardrobe closet.
In reconstructing the murder, Hendry also uncovered a stunning forensic blunder made by police. "I determined that blood stains found under the bed, 47 days after the crime, could not have been deposited when Meredith was killed, because there were objects in the way." The police knew this, says Hendry, but they made a fundamental mistake in their analysis. They concluded that the objects were put there after the murder to cover those blood stains, as part of a staging activity. But Hendry's analysis revealed that the truth is quite different. "The police created these bloodstains themselves," he says. "Photos show that they ransacked the room after the murder, and they carelessly tossed a pair of blood-soaked boots under the bed with other footwear. "When they removed this footwear from under the bed, they found the stains made by blood that had not yet dried when the boots were moved and had dripped onto the floor. They looked at pictures taken the day Meredith was found, saw that a shopping bag was covering the floor at the spot where the stains were located, and jumped to exactly the wrong conclusion." It was a useful error for the prosecution, Hendry notes, because it helped them frame two innocent people. They submitted a police report containing the grossly misinterpreted stain analysis to the court, and it became part of the evidence through which Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito were convicted. Hendry says the key to understanding what happened to Meredith lies in an outside-in approach – looking at the big picture before trying to determine the meaning of each detail. The overall view of the Meredith Kercher murder scene is that of a burglary that turned into a robbery assault and finally became a sexual assault and murder. "Every element of this crime scene points to an outside intruder," says Hendry. "For starters, the forced entry was real, not staged. I have looked at many accidents involving broken windows, and the spray of glass on the floor shows clearly that this window was broken exactly the way it appears, by someone heaving a rock from outside." Hendry says a close examination of the details supports the view that Meredith inadvertently walked in on a burglary. Crime scene photos show a fleece jacket turned inside-out and soaked with blood, indicating that she had not had time to remove it after arriving home. Phone records show that she made an aborted call to her mother in the UK just after the time her friend walked her home, which Hendry cites as further evidence that the attack took place minutes, if not seconds, after she stepped through the door. Finally, the strength and leverage needed to inflict the elongated wound in Meredith's neck, along with the torn bra straps, suggest she was attacked by an enraged male. "It was a brutal, depraved murder," says Hendry. "Unfortunately, the killer, Rudy Guede, has escaped full accountability for this horrible crime because two innocent persons have been convicted along with him." How certain is Hendry that his analysis is correct? He puts it this way: "In my profession, opposing expert reports and opinions are commonplace. But in this case, there's little room for doubt. "I believe I have solved the mystery of what happened to Meredith Kercher. I can fully explain and document every detail of my analysis." A step by step reconstruction of what happened in Meredith Kercher’s room This article contains graphic crime scene photographs and a graphic detailed description of the crime. It is possible to look at the facts and the evidence surrounding this crime and reconstruct what happened, with the understanding that the reconstruction is broadly accurate but not perfect. We do not know Rudy’s motivations for the acts he committed. We do know he had alienated the family that tried to help him get started in life, and he had no known job or means of financial support. He was caught after breaking and entering a building in Milan, and at that time, he was in possession of property stolen in another burglary. It therefore seems likely that theft was his main intent on the night of November 2, 2007, at least initially. Following is what appears to have happened: After entering the cottage at about 8:50 pm, Rudy begins to go through Filomena Romanelli's room. He also takes a quick look in Laura Mezzeti's room, where he leaves a drawer partly open. While looking around in the place, he realizes he needs to use a toilet, so he goes to the nearby bathroom. After a couple of minutes, he hears a sound at the front door and realizes someone has come home. Meredith Kercher arrives at the front door of her apartment flat at about 8:55 pm. She is wearing a blue zippered Adidas jacket over a thin, off-white long sleeved sweatshirt with a tee shirt overlay. She is also wearing blue jeans and red and white Puma shoes. Meredith is carrying an off-white shoulder bag, which contains, among other things, a book she has borrowed from a friend. Upon entering she locks the door from the inside and walks straight to her room. There, she walks to the far wall and turns on the overhead light. She tosses the borrowed book and a notebook on the bed and hooks the shoulder bag on the desk chair. It is 8:56 pm. Meredith now gets out the cell phone she uses to call her family and friends in the UK, sits down on the edge of her bed, and initiates a call to her mother. For reasons only Rudy knows, he makes the decision to go to Meredith's room, neglecting to flush the toilet lest he lose the element of surprise. Armed with a sharp pocketknife, he bursts into the room and confronts Meredith. She stands up, but Rudy grabs her before she can react defensively. She pulls away, but he turns her around and brings her flush against his body. This early struggle results in lateral contact with the bed frame and mattress and possibly the corner of the nightstand. Once Rudy has Meredith under control from behind, he positions the tip of his knife against the right side of her throat. He makes three knife wounds to the right side of the throat during this initial phase of the struggle, with one being a stab wound that penetrates about 1-1/2 inches. Meredith instantly begins bleeding and raises her right hand to the wounds. Rudy’s intent with these initial knife wounds may be to subdue and control his victim rather than to kill her. But as the struggle moves across the room toward the window near the desk, it becomes more violent. Either Rudy is consumed with an urge to kill, or he cannot control Meredith any other way, or he realizes she has recognized him. Eventually Meredith falls to her knees. Rudy, still on his feet, straddles her from behind. From this vantage point, he grabs her jawbone with the fingers of his left hand, pulling her head back Then, with his right hand, he stabs her throat and drives the knife blade to its full depth. He pulls the blade upward until the wound is 3 inches in length. Large quantities of blood immediately flood onto his hand and his pants. Rudy releases Meredith’s head and steps back as she collapses and begins to eject a large volume of blood onto the floor in front of the wardrobe closet. The initial blood deposits are likely oriented in the direction of the nightstand. Meredith attempts to crawl in a clockwise direction, propped on her right hand while clutching her left hand to her throat. She probably remains fully conscious for only a minute or so. With the struggle over, Rudy seizes the collar of the blue sweatshirt Meredith is wearing and pulls her toward the nightstand, leaving a heavy trail of blood. After moving her upper body for about 1-1/2 feet in a counterclockwise arc, the jacket begins to come off, and she is caught up in the mat on the floor, so Rudy tosses it toward the desk. The photo above shows the counterclockwise blood trail beginning at the lower right arrow and then changes appearance at the other arrow. The large area free of blood where marker L is located was likely where the floor mat had earlier been. A small portion of the floor mat is visible beside the tennis shoe. He then grasps the left sleeve of the sweatshirt to pull Meredith until she is face down on the floor with her head on the left side of the wardrobe closet. At this point, she makes a final attempt to rise, grasping the open wardrobe with her left hand. The bloody hand swipe markings seen in the photo above were likely left by Meredith’s left hand in a final attempt to stand up. Rudy begins to disrobe Meredith. He pulls the blue Adidas sweatshirt downward until it comes off, turning the sleeves inside out. He then removes her shoes and socks before rolling her onto her back, at which point she aspirates some blood onto the side of the wardrobe. The photo above shows the aspiration blood drops and the hand markings at the arrows were left after Meredith had been moved to her final position on the floor. He then pulls both shirt layers up over her bra, at which point she aspirates blood onto her bra. He then rips her bra off with force causing the bra to separate at the threaded seams. After her bra is removed, Meredith aspirates blood onto her exposed upper body. Next Rudy pulls her pants and underwear off. At this point, she has completely lost consciousness, Rudy grabs the pillow and places it under Meredith's hips. In lifting up Meredith’s hips to slide the pillow under her, he steps on the pillow several times. His bloody fingerprint will later be found on the pillow along with his shoe prints. Blood is now beginning to run down beside the nightstand and also toward the wardrobe closet. Rudy finds a couple of towels, perhaps making a trip to the bathroom. He uses them to wipe away blood. He then performs some form of sexual assault that leaves his epithelial DNA, but no semen, inside her body. The photo above of the duvet shows a series of four butterfly blood stains inferring placement next to blood source such as Meredith’s throat and lateral movement. When Rudy is finished in the bedroom, he heads into the bathroom, steps out of his right shoe and washes the blood off the top of the shoe in the bidet. Then he wipes the excess blood off himself and his pants. He leaves a number of stains made with diluted blood on the blue rug in the bathroom. One of them is a partial footprint. He also leaves diluted bloodstains in the basin of the bidet. The photo above shows the print that was left on the bathmat in the bathroom. This print was made in bloody water. Rudy returns to Meredith’s room, where he searches through her handbag and possibly the nightstand and carry bag on the floor. He takes money, credit cards, keys and cell phones. Rudy’s DNA will later be found on the handbag. He locks the door to Meredith’s room, leaves bloody shoe prints running down the corridor toward the exit, where he opens the front door with Meredith’s key and walks out into the night. In all likelihood, no more than half an hour has elapsed from the time she arrived home. No mention of Knox or Sollecito. I'd be interested to hear about evidence over where they were at this time.

Poor Meredith. What she must have gone through before she died. This shouldn't of happened to her. Guede deserves a longer sentence for what he did.

Just look where the cellphones have been found: on the way out of town just after the mailbox and other traces where deleted shortly after 22:15h (10:15pm). You can`t get there easiely by feet, and you have to drive around the town if you want to get back from there. The car that hase been seen parking just in front of the house has never been identified. Rudy Guede was seen at 22:35h (10:35pm) on the way back to town. Whould he stayed at the crimesceene for over an hour? never!
jevons March 28, 2014 1:04 pm (Pacific time)
Do we talk about two crimes, a burglary and a murder? I can´t believe why Rudy Guede just left the house after he recognised M.K. has entererd the house and went straight to her room. Would he first sit calm next to her on the bed? No! Also, there is no motivation for such an brutal and emotional reaction. Althrough I think your microanalysis is absolutely correct, I would just throw in an additional actor who had an appointment (via cellphone) with M.K. and was waiting for her when she came back home. Someone who was deeply affected with M.K. but felt hurt because of M.K. reactions. Sitting on the edge of the bed but was denied. No other than Giacomo Silenzi got an interrest in taking the cellphones and delete all the traces.

I have argued elsewhere that a couple of things might have happened slightly differently (but with no major change to the scenario Mr Hendry re-constructs). These are; - when Guede delivered the fatal knife slash, and Meredith collapsed to completely prone on the floor between his legs, that she grabbed Guede's right shin, and for whatever reason he didn't extricate himself for several seconds (enjoyed the sensation of the living warmth of her blood on his skin? Not beyond the bounds of credibility, given what he then immediately did to her bleeding body), and that a LARGE amount of blood soaked his pant leg and right shoe. Quote from a monitored Skype call Guede made from Germany before he was apprehended; "..........She was clinging to me hard, very hard" - That he then sat on Meredith's bed (where he put the knife down), took off his bloody right shoe and probably turned/rolled up the pant leg, and was hence able to go to the adjacent bathroom to clean up WITHOUT LEAVING ANY BLOODY SHOE OR FOOT PRINTS BEWTEEN THE ROOMS. You might recall that Judge Massei and many so-called "guilters" have made made a big deal about this lack of prints from Meredith's room to the bathroom, in order to 'theorise' a "clean-up" (for which there is no other evidnce).

@unsure 2.04.14 10.19pm "...no real evidence of large amounts of blood and still luminol says blood was present?....." Luminol reacts to many different things - not just blood. There was further testing in the hall with TMB, which is a specific testing agent for the prescence of human blood. The TMB tests were NEG.

To annonymous: re how she took a shower etc? I read she used another bathroom.... Isn't that so?
unsure February 4, 2014 10:19 pm (Pacific time)
I have a hard time deciphering this because of the media and actual unknowns. Why in original pictures no real evidence of large amounts of blood and still luminol says blood was present? Facts are not clear enough... glad I'm not the one deciding the fate but the guede kid had some issues for sure. I have an easier time believing he committed crime alone than AK was able to clean specifically hers and RS DNA/prints/etc. It really bothers me we can't get a clear hypothesis.
Roberta February 4, 2014 8:56 am (Pacific time)
I agree with Richard (PI) not only because now AN and RS have both been found guilty AGAIN but because nothing AN said rang true or on the whole was corroborated. She was seen '[flirting' with RS in the Police station when she and others were called to give statements. Perhaps RS was interested in MK romantically and AN didn't like it? they were in it together, but my gut tells me it was AN who was in the driving seat, making RS return after the crime to dishevel the room and make it look like an intrusion. It is insulting beyond belief that now that MK is gone that they do not admit their guilt for the sake of MK family.

I'm curious as to how Amanda Knox could take a shower and not be concerned, frightened, or freaked out by the blood on the mat. As Ron Hendrey in the article above he writes "a number of stains made with diluted blood on the blue rug". How can she not react to that ????
Mark February 3, 2014 5:14 am (Pacific time)
I am curious as to why the assailant moved the mat that is item "L" in the scene. Obviously it was moved after the attack, as it left a pattern on the floor. Was the mat used in some way afterwards? Obviously the blood had dried or congealed enough that when it was moved it did not leave a swiping pattern that suggests that it was moved after some time and then placed under the body. It just seems particularly odd because it shows that a period of time had elapsed from the time of the murder to the time that the mat was moved under the victim. Any theories??
Melissa February 2, 2014 12:32 pm (Pacific time)
I feel so sorry for Amanda and Raffaelle. I read all you wrote and all I can say is that the police investigation was so sloppy and as a result two innocent people are guilty. Rude, who did it all, can get out earlier. It is so wrong.
Richard Smoker November 6, 2013 8:22 am (Pacific time)
People keep referring to what they consider a "fact" that this couldn't be true...that an intruder was in the house when she came home because she would have noticed a light on in the cottage. Didn't she have a roomate (Amanda Knox)? I've had roomates and I know they sometimes when I came home lights were on...even if they weren't home. It wouldn't be that surprising EVEN IF her bedroom door was locked. Maybe she left a light on when she left, maybe she couldn't remember. Yeah, it's speculation but no more so than speculating that she wouldn't have gone into a room that had a light on.
Richard private investigator. October 17, 2013 3:01 am (Pacific time)
What is wrong with some of you morons. The above whilst a semi believable interpretation of the facts is wholly incorrect. I have covered many investigations such as this one and clearly this is not an attack by a lone operator. The account of a botched robbery simply does not hold water. MK would have been aware of an intruder from light in the apartment, if a robbery was being committed at night when it was dark. Even had the light been extinguished upon her arrival, its extremely doubtful this would have gone un-noticed. People have read AK book and stories, and as an attractive girl she has drawn them in. Psychopath's generally share this characteristic. They are charming, sometimes appear sweet and trustworthy, of course this is all to draw you in. If a chance arises for them to take power and control then they do so in a terrifying manner. You can deduce from the injuries she was restrained, this is beyond doubt. Being a first for the evil duo they were both inexperienced and obviously cautious and nervous, whilst clearly excited. The scene clearly shows signs of extended torture, it also shows multiple people escalating and goading each other into action. You can tell with the lighter wounds which came first that initially they were excited but nervous. As the attack continued and they became more confident the violence grew. There are elements which show the attack was carried out with some clear malice and even jealous anger. This was an angry, jealous and pre planned attack carried out by two evil and twisted monsters who have managed to fool idiots and media morons.

If you are in doubt of Amanda Knox, read her book. She tells everyone exactly what happens and how it is proven. The prosecution was cruel and didn't want to be proven wrong. The prosecution used evidence that didn't make sense and was contaminated. ( http://arstechnica.com/science/2011/10/how-weak-dna-evidence-railroadedand-then-rescued-amanda-knox/ ). Also, the prosecution used false witness testimony and lied in court on multiple accounts. Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito deserve to be free.
questions May 10, 2013 9:35 am (Pacific time)
- if Rudy would have been there, when Meredith arrived (sitting on the toilet), wouldn´t she have seen the light in the bathroom shining through the windows from outside, or under the bathoom-door from inside ??!(it was around 21.00 h (9 pm) in November, the bath would have been totally dark, if Rudy has used no light). So I don´t believe Rudy was still there when M. arrived... Only way: Even if Rudy had for example fallen asleep on the toilet, when it was still daylight (so he had not to use light and which is possible for example if he took hard drugs, like heroin, etc)he would have been sleeping there for hours (maybe 18.00 up to 21.00). This seems also not possible (the break in climbing would then have been in daylight). A few things seem astonishing too: Would somebody really rape a dead or dieing person ? And then with (only) his fingers ? If he has murdered M. and knew he has murdered M. would he really leave all traces behind ? (bathmath, bloody handprint etc) and then go to dance to a discothek ? He and his dresses must have been full of blood... where are these dresses ?(he murderd, raped, stole money, went to his home? showering?, fetching new dresses? then going to a disco)? Why are there no significant traces from his shoes to the bath, and why did he took off his shoes ? He could have washed the whole shoe or if he was naked why there are no barfeet traces, only the one in the bath? Everything in this case seems totally illogical.

Knox is innocent , all the people claiming she isnt are as stupid as those italian police! Have any of you read her book? She was treated like a peice of crap in prison - she was sexually harassed, assulted, made to stay awake for hours with no food while under interrigation and other horrible things like that. Get of your ignorant high horses idiots!
murtaza March 27, 2013 4:09 am (Pacific time)
RE: "Poppy" Your disagreement is not backed up with any contradictory evidence whatsoever - for a "forensic scientist" you seem to omit any forensics or science. Instead you post focuses on the character of the two accused after the event, which can ONLY be a judgement-call based on nothing more than your own dislike for "that sort of person." To top it all off, your sensationalist line "they will most likely kill again" is just laughable - people who actually knew Amanda Knox (not bigots reading from trash-mags) described her as non-confrontational and she had NO history of violence. To speak of forensics - there was none to prove that AK was in the room at the time of killing. Yes her story is confused at times, though if you will read up on the procedure of her questioning and the fact that she was a hashish user, this is not inconceivable.
Mo March 26, 2013 5:10 pm (Pacific time)
I dont even know why they let them go. It's obvious that AK and RS killed MK.
jajjaja March 13, 2013 2:01 am (Pacific time)
my heart and brain are not ready to believe that ak is innocent there many things against her for eg she said she took a shower when she return home while the bathroom was covered in blood well only god knows what happened that night
walker May 21, 2012 10:40 am (Pacific time)
i believe all 3 were involved in the murder because of the 43 bruises and lacerations on mrs. kercher's body. not one person could inflict all that damage by themselves.
Poppy January 17, 2012 7:45 pm (Pacific time)
I am a forensic scientist and many of the above conclusions are incorrect. The aspirated blood section is about the only solid conclusion you have made from the evidence. There is no doubt in my mind that Amanda and Raffaele are guilty of murdering Meridith. Their behaviour following the discovery of the body suggests they were sexually aroused by their actions and 'high' with emotion following the murder. They are the perfect partners really, Amanda is the dominant and Raffaele is the submissive, they are both sexually deviant and will most likely kill again.
Marianne November 14, 2011 6:32 am (Pacific time)
Oh come on there's so much you have not accounted for! 1. Why would Rudy break in at a window 12 feet off the ground and no way of holding onto the wall? Plus it was in plain sight of the road. Why not go in at the logical place and use the terrace doors? How did he throw the 10 pound rock through the window without braking the shutters? One shutter was closed, another half-way closed? 2. Why could AK and RS not tell a consistent account of their activities on Nov 1? Why did AK try to pin the murder on Patrick the barman if she was innocent? 3. Meredith's room could easily hold 7 people and did when the jurors during the trial visited the cottage. It is wrong to say there could not have been 3 attackers in the room. 4. The DNA evidence clearly implicates AK and RS and RG.

I SAY ONLY GUEDE KNOWS THAT"S WHY THE TRUTH SHOULD BE BEATEN OUT OF HIM AT ALL COSTS; IT IS A MURDER CASE WE ARE TALKING ABOUT!! I SAY THERE WAS A DEAL BETWEEN LAWYERS OF ALL GUEDE, KNOX AND SOLLECITO WHO ALL COMMITTED THE AWFUL CRIME. YOU HAVE ONE IN JAIL NOW WHO IS 100% GUILTY YOU CAN EASILY GET HIM TO TESTIFY ABOUT THE OTHERS OR PROVE THEIR INNOCENCE AND INCRIMINATE OTHERS. NOT EVERYTHING SHOULD BE GO BY THE RULES. SOMETIMES THERE ARE EXCEPTIONS.
October 17, 2011 11:49 am (Pacific time)
Its not all about race, so whoever brings that up are the ones who thinks about it. Nobody knows who did what, there is alot of evidence that has yet to be proven. With that being said, each and every one of them has lied throughout the trial. Only Meredith knows!!
Kjkryptonite October 11, 2011 7:13 pm (Pacific time)
What I've noticed coming from 99% of the mssg. boards against AK and RS are either "Italians" and/or Black individuals believing "whitey" is still after them? Please for the sake of being sane in in 2011, stop this non-sense unless you have concrete evidence supporting your conclusions.Don't just say well because....blah blah. She did one "split" in the jail waiting for hrs. to be questioned and needed to stretch. NO CARTWHEELS!!!! As far as behavior, either more people need glasses or too prejudice to pay attn. to the known facts. Many photos show a distressed AK and RS. Unfortunately, I've seen death too many times in my life and know that during times of grief people cont. to mourn, smile, andlaugh. EVERYONE handles crisis differently. Bottom line. NO PHYSICAL EVIDENCE (realistic and not fabricated by those who want you to think otherwise--and def. none of the fabrication in the Massei Report that Magnini oversaw with his deluded conclusions along w/his investigative team that made over 54 mistakes)or any other DNA, footprints, hand prints, etc...links AK or RS to the crime. Have people forgotten common sense? AK's twenty, brilliant, learned one foreign language and seeking to learn Italian while living in small town Perugia, Italy, soaking up as much life possibly in the "brief" three+ weeks there w/Meredith being the only "English" speaking roommate who she constantly wrote positive letters about, meets RS (while w/Meredith) and spends most of her time with him afterwards for roughly two of the weeks out of the almost four she's there and says...mmmm??? Yeah, let me risk everything that I've accomplished and worked for in the States, and now in Italy, by killing my fav. flatmate. AK or RS had no past history of criminal activity,no phone records show any communication with RG, no motive, and absolutely no EVIDENCE! Rudy Guede was the only person with a criminal background/history, known for carrying a knife in his backpack, desperate for money that day/night because he was getting kicked out of apt. (motive) if he didn't come up w/rent, known to climb/break into windows, known to steal money and other items, the only person to flee to Germany, did not mention AK's name to Skype friend, in Germ. jailhouse journal, nor did he mention her when extradited back to Italy even when asked twice if she was there, and it wasn't until Magnini got a hold of him and offered a reduced sentence as long as he added both AK and RS into the equation. Guess what, that's exactly what happen. The real and only killer is simply serving "ONLY" 16 yrs. in prison for a most horrific crime and rape while two other bright individuals have spent the past four yrs. in prison for something that had absolutely nothing to do with. Get over it...They are free and justice "finally" prevailed. Stop w/the prejudice because Rudy just happened to be black and/or you are an Italian. For some reason, Italians dislike Americans for our free spirit and strong will to never go down without a fight! Get used to it, because we'll cont. fighting until our very last breath. For me, this is not about race, citizenship, personality, etc..It is about one person that needed money, was caught off guard and prob high, and before he knew it went to far. Where do you go next after you commit such a heinous crime? You go home. Where did Rudy go...HOME! Amanda and Raffaele are FREE, Magnini filing an appeal only shows his own guilt/motives (as no one in their "right" mind would file an appeal on suspician?)and has NO chance at all to get a re-trial. He's done, they are free, keep bickering/blabbering it want change a thing! Great to see two individ. free from wrong injustice and am thankful!

Thank you for this explanation, it certainly makes more sense. Too bad you were not a part of this trial from the word go. Then perhaps these two innocent people and their families might not have suffered emotionally and financially for 4 years.

Amanda is free because, simply put, she is innocent. Have you even been interogated for almost 50 hours? I bet you would confess to anything too out of pure sleep deprevation. She may have been nieve, werent we all at 20, but a killer she is not. I am more sad for the loss of Meredith. She was lost in all the media sensation. And on a side note, its deeply disturbing that the prosecuter is a CONVICTED FELON, and what was he convicted for? Lying and creating false evidence in another murder trial. Coincidence? I think not. Italy's legal system was corrupt from day one in this case.

I don´t believe in Amanda´s innocence. She had something to do with that murder. And like Brittney Koeppen said: "People dont lie, if their not guilty". And yes such a "beautiful young student" never could do such a cruel act...naive... and all of the sudden their are witnesses wich are criminals too, and report about any evader who shall did this murder (maybe they also felt charity for that poor little beautiful and sexy Amanda-student)
Cyndi October 3, 2011 7:01 am (Pacific time)
Such a sad story....I only can say that I grieve with Meredith s parents and all who loved her. I cant imagine how much pain they must undergo losing their pretty daughter ..i too lost my mom yrs ago. she was brutally killed in her home. So i can understand the pain here. I only pray and ask that teh HOly spirit will manifest in the lives of the kercher family and that justice will prevail and if anyone is innocent then it be so..... only God above knows everything that happened...who planned this or who did this. He is the best judge and if anyone does anything unfairly...then they will someday be accountable for their wrong actions. My prayers with the Kurcher family... :S

From all I read Amanda and her Friend are most likely innocent. If the DNA on Merediths cloth was really added afterwards then I can't see any reason to keep her locked anymore. It hurts to read what happened to that girl, it's so fucked up and useless.. Italia handled this case extermely unprofessional, I smell way too high emotions from police and state officials. Let's hope Amanda and her friend are set free and that they are really innocent. We'll actually never learn ;/

Although I personally think Amanda is guilty, I do have some doubts. Why weren't Amanda's finger prints found in Meredith's room. If Meredith was struggling as this person has concluded, why wasn't any of Amanda's hair found in the room. There was no physical evidence whatsoever that Amanda was in that room when Meredith was being murdered and raped.

Mr. Rag, Where do you get your information your stated facts and the truth of the matter don't line up. Seems as though you have a mind set and fill the facts in accordingly. Believing everything you hear from the Italian police is a major mistake, that is if you want the truth to be known. These kids have no motive here thus the crime for them makes no sense. On the other hand the burglar Rudy does in is the likely murderer. Common sense must prevail.

I believe amanda knox and rafaelito sollecito were innocent from the very beginning. Their was no doubt that Rudy was the sole killer of merideth kercher and in order to save his face and not accountable , he made amanda knox and rafaelito sollecito as accomplice. Rudy Guede was already in the room, stealing stuffs and when merideth kercher arrived , hide himself in the bathroom , and when amanda knox arrived,, they argued on something, maybe a lost money which rudy guede stolen before they arrived, and have a violent argument, and made merideth kercher unconscious and left the place, and rudy guede taken advantage of merideth kercher and witnessed the situation and taken advantage, came out of the bathroom, rape merideth kercher while unconscious and until she was conscious and seen his face and identified him, while struggling,, and decided to finished her,, in order not to be jailed,, and killed her slowly, and use anything evidences to pinpoint amanda knox and rafaelito sollecito in order to save his face., which judge mignini believe and as well as DNA investigator stefanoni and so with the police,, frame up some DNA evidences to justify the testimony of rudy guede and the gut feeling og judge mignini, which made amanda knox and rafaelito behind bars and suffered the wicked legal system of perugia italy.. The big mistake of the prosecutors !!!- i believe! of their innocense!

I found this particularly insightful and was appreciative of the information about her coat. That Kercher’s coat was removed by someone else, evidenced by the way the sleeves were rolled inside-out, places the time soon after she entered the house and removes any notion of consensuality. A possible scenario for the immediate aftermath of the stabbing would be that Guede was aroused and intended intercourse. He took off at least one of his shoes and pant’s leg. After removing Kercher’s clothes and positioning her hips on a pillow, he found penetration into an unlubricated vagina difficult and spat into his hand, inserted it into her vagina to lubricate it, leaving behind cells and DNA. Probably still wasn’t easy and the horror of a dead body, perhaps with bowels released, blood everywhere, and the possibility of discovery caused him to stop. Guede after all was a second story burglar, not a sociopath who had planned murder and sex with a dead body. He put the duvet over the horrible scene to hide it from his sight as he rifled her purse for money. Then he cleaned himself off somewhat and fled.

This is an awful miscarriage of justice being thrust upon Knox and Sollecito. Utterly ridiculous, the complete lack of proof that still leads to a "conviction" because her prosecutors harbor a secret fascination with the occult, kinky sex, and femme fatales. I'm an American, and of course we have the debacle that was O.J.'s acquittal, but "innocent until proven guilty" is still a far better system than this crap. This may sound horrible, but I feel better about O.J. having walked free for killing his wife than I do about having Knox locked up for something she so plainly didn't do.
Erin July 24, 2011 5:25 pm (Pacific time)
One thing that has baffled me about this case is why was that particular knife seized as the murder weapon? The knife was taken from Sollecito's apartment; why would one of the perps take the murder weapon back to their home? Not to mention, the knife tested negative for blood. There wasn't enough DNA on the blade to be 100% conclusive that it belonged to Kercher; there wasn't enough for double testing and the procedures for handling evidence like that was neglected. A minute amount of Amanda's DNA was on the handle, but in the independent anaylsis, turns out that the "DNA" on the blade is acutally vegetable residue. Mignini and Stefano have a fixation on the occult and are coming up with this bogus sex/murder theories

No doubt that Guede is involved and not only knows who killed her but was, most likely, the murderer, himself. Knox and Sollecito? There is clearly an involvement, somehow. To what degree, I'm just not sure.

This is an amazing and accurate analysis. Nothing more clear than this has emerged that I have seen. Then there is the whole issue of the cell phones and the call about a bomb threat, to the home of the people whose yard those cell phones had been thrown into. This occurred before the discovery of Meredith's body. Someone is complicit here and now w/ the new testimony in court that an Albanian man was also involved, it points very strongly to a cover up to protect someone, and/or some group that was concerned about Guede's and/or someone else's fingerprints or calls made on those phones connecting them to Guede and/or perhaps another accomplice. It is known the Albanian Mafia is active in Perugia and they are known for especially violent crime. This speaks volumes about the police coverup and the Prosecutor's agenda. It is corruption and the sort of people in this association would not think twice about framing and sacrificing the lives of innocents, who were at the wrong place and the wrong time. "The truth will set you free." Now who will take on this corrupt legal machine such that they will be forced to not be able to keep Amanda and Raffaele as their scapegoats? The US State dept? So far not a peep, interestingly enough, from that faction. This too speaks volumes. 11 Italian politicos are insisting on the investigation into this miscarriage of justice and the Prime Minister of Italy who is watching the trial will also be complicit if he allows the charges to stand, among others. This is a frame job if ever there was one and it's wearing thin.
M May 21, 2011 1:25 pm (Pacific time)
This explanation would be almost believable if it wasn't for the sexual assault aspect and the inability of the author to explain this. It's almost as an afterthought that he even mentions it, 'He then performs some form of sexual assault that leaves his epithelial DNA, but no semen, inside her body.' Hmm could he be more vague? I am of the opinion that Knox and Sollicito are both guilty as charged and belong in prison along with Guede and this piece has done nothing to change this, good try but no cigar!

JUST SAY NO TO ITALIAN WINE for AMANDA KNOX Hello Friends, A quick note and a request. The Quick Note: For the past six months my co-author and I have been writing a non-fiction project titled ‘The Injustice of It All… Legal Improprieties, 1630-2011.’ The legal cases explored in this project are presented chronologically over nearly four-hundred years of history; from early settlements in both New England and New France to an American student from the University of Washington presently incarcerated in Italy. The Request: Our request concerns the final case study in our volume, the saga of American exchange student Amanda Knox and her former boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito. I won’t discuss the details of the case but will provide links below for you to make your own informed decision. Let me quickly tell you that on/ or about November 2, 2007, a twenty-one year old British exchange student named Meredith Kercher was brutally assaulted and murdered in her cottage in Perugia, Italy. The killer was quickly identified by both fingerprint and DNA analysis and was tried and convicted for his crime. The twist to this tale is that the prosecutor, Giuliano Mignini, decided that others were involved in the death of Meredith Kercher. As he has done with past cases, Mignini developed a theory by using intuition rather than evidence. The result of his fabricated theory was the trial and conviction of Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito in 2009. The Knox/Sollecito appeal trial is scheduled to begin in Italy in late May 2011 and may be delayed due to new DNA testing. Both the Italian judicial and law enforcement agencies seem to be intent on the suppression of the truth. The Knox family has been indicted for libel by the Italian police agency concerning their statements about Amanda’s incarceration and interrogation. News reporters have been harassed by Italian authorities as they tried to determine the facts concerning interrogations, crime scene preservation, and DNA collection and testing procedures. What can we do to support the Knox and Sollecito families in their pursuit of justice? What can we do to help the Kercher family finally determine the truth? We offer one possible solution to let the Italian government, their judicial system, and the Italian people know of the United States’ displeasure with the unprofessional methods that have been used to prosecute, convict, and incarcerate two college students who, when the facts are examined, are in reality innocent. Our plan of action is this: Please pass this information to everyone in your email directory, to your friends and contacts on Facebook, and contacts on other social networks which you may be a member. We are asking everyone to avoid purchasing products of Italian origin especially wine, beer and alcohol imports. We don’t suggest you stop purchasing wine; just avoid those from Italy until the Amanda Knox/ Raffaele Sollecito appeal process has been concluded. Please tell your friends of this effort; mention it to your local wine and liquor distributor. Please pass the word. Thank you for your help and concern. "1s10", the "evidence" you have posted isn't even evidence. "1.accuse someone else who she knew was innocent?" these "statements" [which were illegal due to the police not allowing her a laywer] were the result of police coercing her into saying that Patrick killed Meredith. There aren't any recordings of this interrogation, which is common in Italy. Why? Because either a. they are hiding it because they know it will reveal the police forcing Amanda to "vision" Patrick in the cottage the night of the murder, or b. further proof that the police aren't reliable that they wouldn't record an interrogation. "2. take a shower in the bathroom with her roommates blood all over it?" There WASN'T blood all over the bathroom. The image you saw wasn't a fake, but it was a chemical test for proteins that turns pink either immediately [if you've found blood] or in five minutes [if it's not blood]. It wasn't blood, but the police decided to circulate the image as if the stuff on the walls was blood and as if THAT'S what Amanda saw and showered in. What she was a small, very tiny amount of blood in the sink which could've been anything and wasn't a reason to be suspicious of anything.

okay I have read a lot about this case, from both sides and I think it is very obvious that they are all 3 GUILTY! Of course Rudy is the main guy but why would Amanda 1.accuse someone else who she knew was innocent? 2. take a shower in the bathroom with her roommates blood all over it? I think they all did it and Rudy was not getting away with it no matter what so he confessed and apologized and got his sentence lowered? Amanda and her bf havent apologized because they still have a chance to get away with it! Duh! There is no way that those two are innocent! They may have done a good job at covering up some evidence and the investigators did a horrible job of collecting evidence but there is still enough to prove them guilty in my eyes. It makes me sick to think that someone could do something like this! If you ask me they should all be doing a life sentence if they were innocent they would have had no reason to lie or accuse anyone else of the murder! Rudy may have been the one to actually murder her but the other two were involved somehow or they wouldnt be lying about it! If Rudy would just come out and tell the truth about what all happened we could all know the whole truth and Meredith's family might have a little closure! Why wont he just tell what happened he has already gotten his sentence and done both appeals why cant he just tell the whole story!

If the entire text of this report was read, you'd see at the very end this forensic scientist claims the assault took only approximately 30 minutes, not 6 hours. Look, I'm an Italian American who views this case like a double edged sword. Amanda's actions post Meredith's murder were obviously questionable. OBVIOUSLY. She changed up her story a lot which automatically puts her in the "I'm guilty" category. Have any of you been interrogated for 14 hours with 20 people in your face?? The Italian police and investigation team have all ADMITTED to their hard fisted interrogation tactics because Mannini, the prosecutor in this case is a satanic nut job who took the blunders of his forensic team as bible and made ENORMOUS MISTAKES THROUGHOUT THIS CASE!!!!! He was just indicted AND CONVICTED for using unnecessary ruthless forms of interrogation tactics. I'm sure a lot of people would like to overlook that fact, as well as the fact that the physical evidence in this case should be completely thrown out due to possible cross contamination. How can you pick up evidence from a crime scene committed 6 WEEKS PRIOR and still expect it to be credible, and accurate? IT'S IMPOSSIBLE PEOPLE. They saw this American girl and were captivated at the fact that she was linked to some sex capade story made up by the prosecution. I have one remaining question.. if the prosecution is SO SURE Amanda Knox and Raffele Sollecito participated in a sex fueled frenzy that ended in Meredith's demise.. why has THEIR theory changed about the events of the crime? Why have they changed their story up as much as Amanda has?
MD1927 February 28, 2011 3:32 pm (Pacific time)
Is this man seriously suggesting that the attack on Meredith lasted between 08:56 - 22:13? The GPRS connection made by her phone at 22:13 registers with a mast which serves her bedroom so it is reasonable to assume that she was still alive at that point, using her phone and the phone had not left the cottage. Even if you think that the GPRS connection was made by Meredith's killer/s, of which there is no logical reason to suppose, then that means they're still present in the cottage at 22:13 despite the attack beginning with the interrupted call to Meredith's mother at 08:56. Nobody, not even the Defences, believe the attack lasted that long. Would Rudy really stay around for nearly 90 minutes when anyone at any time could have come back to that cottage? Come on.

From my point of view, all 3 are guilty. If Knox was innocent then why she accused a man to be a murderer ? Would any of you do that ? You 're arrested as suspects and then you say "he did it !" pointing the finger to an innocent man ? Are you kidding me ? No matter how scared you are and how long you re sleepless would you accuse someone YOU KNOW and WORK FOR to be a murderer ? Why they said the police that nothing was missing EXCEPT Meredith ? And last but not least. How many murders and rapes Guede committed before Meredith ? if you believe that an ordinary burglar wakes up one morning and says "hey I decided to rape and kill a girl tonight", i would suggest you to reconsider your thoughts. Those 2 "innocent" souls don't even know where they were at the night of the murder. And they were not asked 60 days later to provide an alibi. To me those 3 did it. But i really don't think Guede did the killing. And by the way this "free Willie" campaign of Knoxes is an insult to Meredith and her family.
GW January 27, 2011 3:04 pm (Pacific time)
It's obvious that Knox and Sollecito were 2 of the 3 killers. Knox's DNA mixed with Kercher's blood in Filomena's room is by far the most damning of the evidence. Not only was her DNA found mixed with the victim's blood in Filomena's room, it was only found after using luminol clearly showing the break in was staged.

This isn't about race, but about evidence, and facts. Rudy is the only one to blame. He is a coward and won't admit it because he wants to get out of jail sooner. He feels no guilt obviously. It's sad a girl had to lose her life because of this creep. The only reason Amanda or Sollecito got convicted, were because people wanted to slander and balme Amanda. It was all for the TV. Didn't matter that this was 2 peoples lives, no the gossip and slander where more important then facts.
McJustice January 8, 2011 5:14 pm (Pacific time)
There are some who claim without any evidence whatsoever that Amanda and Raffaele are somehow "sociopaths". For such an extraordinary claim there needs to be strong evidence. There is not even any weak evidence to even begin to suggest this. Allegations of this were not introduced in the trial, no professional who has interviewed her has ever reported anything other than she is normal. The only suggestions of emotional abnormality seem to be tabloid reports early in the case based on nothing more than wild conjecture. A few "on call" "expert" opinion talking heads on UK tv were quoted alleging nonsense based on the same tabloid reports and the stolen and leaked diary she wrote over a number of days in prison. Since then no reputable professional has ever repeated any of this kind of nonsense. Why? because overwhelmingly Amanda has been shown to be a normal and gentle, caring person. Also, being black or white does not make someone guilty or innocent. There has to be solid evidence. There is solid evidence demonstrating that Rudy Guede broke into the cottage and assaulted, killed and robbed Meredith. This has nothing to do with what he looks like or where he comes from. It has to do with what the evidence shows he did.
Truth Seeker January 7, 2011 8:22 am (Pacific time)
Quite perfect how the so-called evidence here fails to elucidate on the evidence that secured Amanda Knoxs conviction. It obvious that most American whites think that an African was to blamce for this - no this murder was conducted by three sociopaths, Amanda Knows and her boyfriend. She deserves justice (in jail for longer than the sentence given) due to the fact that she had said that the murder was done by a Patrick Lumumba. Face it people Amanda Knox is the product of Western upbringing - drugs and sex Please rather than lynch the black guy only take off your white gowns and masks and judge according to the evidence Thank you Harry Rag

Any fingerprint questions refer to the prosecution's fingerprint expert who had to explain to Mignini that usable fingerprints are the exception in ANYBODY'S home. There were plenty of smudged prints and NO sign of a "cleanup". In our own homes we touch the same places over and over in our daily routines... that leaves very few if any clear prints in other places. That is not a sign of a "cleanup". That idiot Mignini who was in charge of the investigation did not know this and had to be told in court after thinking it was "evidence" of some sort is astonishing. He is trained in law NOT forensics... and apparently knows less than the average true crime reader.

Shirlane Yannuzzi December 13, 2010 9:48 am (Pacific time)
It is obvious that Amanda is innocent. We will never know who really killed poor Meredith because the Italians have convinced the world that they have the culprits. It does appear that Guede is guilty. Let's leave it at that and bring Amanda home, where she belongs.
Ariande December 12, 2010 7:48 am (Pacific time)
Rudy Guede is the murderer, duh! The one thing about this story that I have noticed (as I have read about this) is that there are some weird groupies that go around the web commenting on all these stories who seem to have a chip on their shoulder about the college kids, but not the murderous drifter. ??? What is that all about? It seems they are all part of some little sick clique - very weird that they would want so desperately to see a poor college girl suffer because she acted like a stupid girl and didn't know what she was dealing with. Anyway, want to see someone innocent die in prison makes them evil people I suppose.
Giuliano Mignini December 12, 2010 7:35 am (Pacific time)
The writer of this article has spent longer than a few hours researching. He makes it very clear Rudy Guede did it. Most any sane person understands that the drifter from Africa did it, as he was already committing similar crimes. Only the fantastically ignorant believe what the moron prosecutor put forward. Oh, did I mention that the prosecutor in this case has been convicted of a crime base on his investigations? Apparently he has a record of making up insane crime theories. This is like the Duke lacrosse case only worse!! Amanda Knox may have been a dope, but she ain't a murderer!
human interest December 12, 2010 1:40 am (Pacific time)
I have not followed this case at all until today, although I had read about it in the news. What I had understood until now was that Amanda Knox and Boyfriend were found guilty, but that there was a lot of evidence that could have been mishandled by the incomptent Italian detectives. After spending hours of reading through articles online in support of Amanda Knox and those againts her, I find it inconceivable that anyone who has an ounce of objectivity to argue for her innocence. I am not saying that Amanda is guilty of murder, but after reading all the evidence on both sides, it seems that her story just doesnt add up. What is most damning in my opinion, is the exchange between her and her mother where her mother seems to insinuate that Amanda knew something and told her what had happened before Meredith's body was found. Also her behavior when Merediths bedroom door is broken down and the room entered, and she is nowhere near, despite her "concern" for Meredith, speaks volumes.
ariande December 11, 2010 11:05 pm (Pacific time)
Rudy Guede did it. It's obvious. Only nuts would come up with the tangled and insane story implicating the college kids instead of the weirdo drifter - anyone who thinks knox or that or little italian kid did it are just hopelessly stupid.

Amanda lied, boyfriend lied, Ivory coaster lied, prosecuter has been prosecuted for lying. Unfortunately, we are left with photos and a innocent body that can't lie. Reasonable doubt is reasonable doubt. If your prosecution has been caught in a lie, and no filmed interrogation. That is reasonable doubt. Everything is hearsay. That is not admissable in a US court. Nor can a US court sue Phd's for slander for giving a professional opinion. I doubt I will visit Italy soon.

Amanda Knox and Raffaele Solecito are innocent. Rudy Guede did it all. That is the conclusion of this article. Ron Hendry is a forensic engineer. He is not a homicide detective, a forensic scientist nor, more importantly, a judge trained to evaluate and draw logical conclusions from all the evidence at a trial. A forensic engineer is qualified to draw conclusions from structural or mechanical/technical failures. They often deal, for the above reasons, with road accidents. This article is solely to do with what the photographs of the murder room reveal. He does not pay attention to any other evidence at all. He describes the dynamics of an attack on Meredith which is perfectly plausible and on this basis it is also perfectly plausible that the attack was carried out by Rudy Guede alone. Photographs can, however, be misleading as Ron Hendry has already discovered with regard to his "reconstruction" of Filomena's bedroom ( where the broken window was ) on the basis of photos taken of that room. The problem with that reconstruction was that the photos were taken after certain people had already been in the room, namely the two postal police officers and Filomena herself, checking to see what may have been stolen. The lesson is that to properly evaluate what photos reveal you need to ascertain what the primary witnesses recollect of the scene. Even accident reconstructionists realise this. They need to know what the primary witnesses recall of the accident. You may sat that the murder room is different. But is it, bearing in mind that ambulance personnel, homicide detectives, and perhaps a forensic officer have already been in. The photos were obviously taken at different times to record different stages of the processing of the room. Just as with Filomen's room one needs to talk to the primary witnesses for their recollection to properly establish what the photos show. What I have trouble with is what any logical thinker would have trouble with. How does Ron Hendry jump from what the photos show, which are extremely limited in the information they provide, to the conclusions he draws? First of all, there is nothing but nothing in the dynamics he describes which precludes another person or persons being present and participating in the attack. I guess that if you want to believe that Amanda and Raffaele are innocent then you want to believe that it was all Rudy. Secondly, what is the evidence of staging other than blood traces which may have been caused by the boots being moved? So what if the boots were moved at some stage whilst the room was being processed? This is neither evidence of conspiracy or staging. Why would the police or anyone want to stage ... well, what exactly? I can't get my head round this nonsense at all.How does the fact that the boots were moved devalue the other evidence in the room? What is the relevance of all this? Certainly the Massei report found no relevance - precisely because there is none. This, of course, is how conspiracy propogandists work. They cherry pick what they want and need - ignoring all the other evidence - construct wild theories and make ludicrous claims. The ludicrous claim in this case is not that Rudy was guilty, he was , but that Amanda and Raffaele were not involved. There is now an appeal in process but the Massei report is already analagous to Robert Posners' "Case Closed" on the JFK assassination. Conspiracy theorists will always have it their way but at the end of the day - when all the evidence is properly evaluated - they are just a small sad clique.
Anonymous December 10, 2010 10:10 am (Pacific time)
Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito are not guilty and Rudy Guede is the sole perpetrator. That is the conclusion of this article. Ron Hendry is a specialist in accident reconstruction. He is not a forensic scientist, a homicide detective, nor, more importantly a judge trained in evaluating all the evidence and drawing logical conclusions from it all. In this article he draws his conclusions solely from the photographic evidence before him, namely the photographs of the murder room. He has therefore ignored all the other evidence that was presented at the trial. So are the photographs conclusive evidence that Amanda and Raffaele are innocent? Of course not. He merely describes the dynamics of an attack in the same manner that he will have often described the dynamics of a road accident from the presence of tyre skids and impact loci etc. There is nothing wrong in this and up to a point the dynamics he describes are a useful indicator as to what happened to poor Meredith. The problem for any logical thinker are the conclusions that he draws from the extremely limited information available from these photographs. It also has to be pointed out that photographs can be misleading. Unfortunately Ron Hendry has already been caught out in this respect with regard to his "reconstruction", based on photographs, of Filomena's bedroom, where the window was broken. Those photos were taken after people had been moving around inside the room, namely two postal police officers and Filomena, checking to see if anything had been stolen. Objects were moved as a consequence. Therefore to properly evaluate photographs taken afterwards you need to source the primary witnesses to the scene, and their recollections. Of course you do the same at a road accident, interview witnesses etc. That should be obvious. You may say that the murder room is different. Except of course that homicide detectives and forensic officers may have been in it, obviously with great care, before the photographs were taken. The point is that they too are witnesses whose evidence can help evaluate and interpret photographs subsequently taken. Ron Hendry does not introduce any such caveat, but that is not surprising given the illogical conclusions he draws. Consider :- 1. There is nothing but nothing in the dynamics to which he refers which precludes others being present or participating. You only believe it is all Rudy if you believe that Amanda and Raffaele are innocent. 2. What is the relevance of the blood stains under the bed? Even if they are there because the boots were moved to under the bed, so what? We know where the boots were originally and that they were moved. As to why and when it would, I suggest, be useful to ask the relevant witnesses. In any event Judge Massei paid it no attention at all precisely because it has no relevance. It is absurd to jump from this to any conclusion that the police were staging a crime scene (to what end?) or that it is a "blunder" that devalues the other evidence. In fact no -one has ever suggested that the murder room is in any way staged save that Meredith's state of undress may have been staged. Self respecting experts do not engage in the sort of woolly conspiracy thinking or police bashing that is prevalent in this article.
Seeker of Truth December 9, 2010 6:48 am (Pacific time)
Harry:- An abundant amount of Raffaele Sollecito's DNA was found on Meredith's bra clasp. Judge Massei pointed to the extremely clear RFU peaks associated with the DNA test, the lowest of which was 30% higher than the RFU test widely used for minimum reliability and the highest of which was more than 200% higher. Of the 17 loci tested in the sample, Sollecito's profile matched 17 out of 17. Dr. Torricelli for the Kerchers affirmed that the alleles (peaks) in the sample constituted the biological profile of Raffaele Sollecito. AND THIS BRA CLASP WAS ONLY COLLECTED FROM THE CRIME SCENE MORE THAN A MONTH LATER. According to Sollecito's forensic expert, Professor Vinci, Knox's DNA was on Meredith's bra. Amanda Knox's DNA was found on the handle of the double DNA knife and a number of independent forensic experts - Dr. Patrizia Stefanoni, Dr. Renato Biondo and Professor Francesca Torricelli - categorically stated that Meredith’s DNA was on the blade. DNA ON BLADE 'TOO LOW' AMPLIATIVE TECHNIQUE WAS BOTCHED. There were five instances of Knox's DNA mixed with Meredith's blood in three different locations in the cottage- KNOX'S DNA WAS ALL OVER THE HOUSE. Knox tracked Meredith's blood into the bathroom, the hallway, her room and Filomena's room, where the break-in was staged. Knox's DNA and Meredith's blood was found mixed together in Filomena's room, in a bare bloody footprint in the hallway and in three places in the bathroom. Rudy Guede's bloody footprints led straight out of Meredith's room and out of the house. This means that he didn't stage the break-in in Filomena's room or go into the blood-spattered bathroom after Meredith had been stabbed- NOT PROVED THAT BREAK-IN WAS STAGED. RUDY HAD BROKEN INTO AT LEAST TWO OTHER PLACES IN THE MONTH OR SO BEFORE THIS CRIME. HE CARRIED A KNIFE TO THESE BREAK-INS. Sollecito left a visible bloody footprint on the blue bathmat in the bathroom-ACTUALLY RUDY'S Knox's and Sollecito's bare bloody footprints were revealed by luminol in the hallway- KNOX AND SOLLECITO's FOOTPRINTS HAVE NEVER BEEN FOUND IN MEREDITH's BLOOD- JUST BECAUSE LUMINOL REACTS, DOESN'T MEAN IT'S REACTING WITH BLOOD. LUMINOL REACTS WITH BLEACH (FOUND IN MOST CLEANING PRODUCTS- WHENEVER YOU GET OUT OF THE SHOWER YOU MAKE LUMINOL REACTIVE FOOT PRINTS-IF YOU CLEAN YOUR SHOWER!) It's not a coincidence that the three people - Knox, Sollecito and Guede - who kept telling the police a pack of lies are all implicated by the DNA and forensic evidence- ANY 'CONFLICTING' STATEMENTS AMANDA GAVE WERE BECAUSE THE POLICE KEPT ASKING HER TO IMAGINE IF SHE'D BEEN THERE, IF PATRICK HAD BEEN THERE, WHAT COULD'VE HAPPENED. RUDY DIDN'T MENTION EITHER KNOX OR SOLLECITO IN CONNECTION WITH THE CRIME UNTIL APRIL 2008 Amanda Knox voluntarily admitted that she was involved in Meredith's murder in her handwritten note to the police on 6 November 2007-NO SHE DIDN'T. SHE REITERATED THAT THE POLICE HAD CONFUSED HER

This is certainly the most credible reconstruction I have read of what might have happened that night. However, taking a step back from this, and from the contested DNA evidence and from the contested witness statements etc etc, the biggest thing that confuses me is Amanda and Rafaele's behaviour. I still don't understand why they changed their story about their whereabouts- yes yes, I know everybody is going to come back and say that she was under pressure from the police etc, but so were all the other people questioned, all of Meredith's friends etc. They all managed to deliver one account and stick to it. It just doesn't seem to stick that an innocent person would act the way that A and S have acted. Also, the email which Amanda sent to all her friends back home talks about blood that Sollecito has on his hand which A thought got there from the fish they were preparing. It's just SO WEIRD that she would write that, trying to slip in this little pointer that Sollecito was involved. Very strange indeed. Just doesn't seem to me to be something an innocent person would do. If she knows nothing about what happened that night and she was with Sollecito the whole time, why would she try to raise doubts about him?! I really want to believe the above article, but the sticking point is how they behaved. PS, Anonymous below who refuted all of Harry's claims in CAPS, if you think that DNA can be blown onto the floor from your hair using a hairdryer I think it is you who needs to get your facts straight!

The Knox family is not rich, they never were. They are paying nobody because they have no money. The were solidly middleclass and Amanda's trip to Italy was likely a scholarship arrangement as her family could not have afforded such a luxury. Today the Knoxes are broke, heavily in debt and hurtly physically, emotionally and financially. This ordeal has left them bankrupt and distraught. Bottom line, each time someone comes out to say that Amanda wasn't involved they are saying it based on their own opinion and a need to have wrongs righted. They are not paid by the Knoxes (because they have no money) nor are they friends of thwe knoxes. Just out of curiousity how much do you supposed they would have had to pay Donald Trump?

The Guilters/Haters have been stalking the Knox family all over the Internet and pummeling them with lies and slander. These Guilters/Haters are quite vicious and immoral. They are on this thread too. Despite what they claim over and over, there is NO ONE being paid by the Knox family to post or express an opinion, expert or otherwise, about this case. The Guilters/Haters attempt to deceive people into thinking that those who support Amanda are actually paid. This 100% false lie should tell you something about the lack of ethics and integrity of the Guilters/Haters' tiny group of crazies. There are only a handful of people in this group who think that Amanda is guilty, but the Guilters/Haters post on the Internet 24/7 to try to make it look like there are a lot of them. They also had a advertisment on the Web looking to HIRE people to post for the TJMK site!!Disgusting.

There are two viewpoints on the guilt or innocence of Amanda and Raffaele; one from those that base their opinions on how they "feel" about things based on nothing more than those feelings, and those that delve in, do carefull studies and base their conclusions on nothing but the facts, like Mr. Hendry. Those of the second group unanimously find that there is no case against Amanda and Raffaele based on fact; one has to suspend reality and all facts to believe that the murderer was anyone other than Rudy Guede. I for one, if going through the court system in any nation on earth would like, if I were innocent, to have my guilt or innocence decided by those that look only at the facts. If I were guilty I would love to have everything decided by those who "feel" the truths because it's so easy to play those types of folks as we've seen through the incredibly savy way of playing the Perugian court system by the murderer, Rudy Guede.Rudy obviously knows the game from having lived there as a street-savy minor criminal. Amanda was just an unsavy, un-schooled innocent who didn't know that there was a game and that she was not, if she wanted to be believed, to tell the truth. She needs the help of those who can innumerate the facts and we can only pray- and hope- and pray- that someone in that Perugian court system wants to and is able to see facts and not decide to continue the harrassement of these two based, again, on nothing more than their "feelings".
Jimbo December 5, 2010 9:55 am (Pacific time)
from the photos you can probably come up with other scenarios as to what happened the night of the murder, although the right one would be the one that fits best with the rest of the evidence, excluding the rest of the case is certainly not very thoughfull.

@ Observer: Comment about seeing a murder scene. She did not see a murder scene. She saw a front door open. Something that happens with that door sometimes... as testified to by other housemates. She came to take a shower and change... she called out to see if anyone was home or had nipped around to the lower floor... (Meredith had the key to take care of the cat... and as later emerged water the indoor Marijuana plants down there.) Not an out of the ordinary situation. Amanda pulled the front door closed but did not lock it case someone was coming back up, closed the hall door that separated her and Meredith's part of the cottage from the rest and took her shower. She did not see the faint watery blood print and spots on the bathmat or the minor signs on the sink and the bidet. Cold house...she disrobed in her room which is 3 steps from the bathroom... a quick trip direct to the shower in a cold room is quite normal. The stains were not extreme and she did not know the cause... just as the postal police later said it did not seem to be a definite sign of something serious... she tried Meredith's door and knocked quietly... banging loudly on the door of a person sleeping in would not be welcome. She was in a hurry to finish changing and doing her hair and getting back to Raffaele's so that they could leave on their planned day trip to another town. Her misgivings about the odd things in the house grew and she discussed them with Raffaele... was is just her or was it something to be concerned about... so he suggested going back to the house to put her mind at rest. Then they saw the broken window in Filomena's room... calls were made to housemates and to Raffaele's sister who was a policewoman. and she said yes call the Carabinieri. There was no delay after finding the broken window. The Mignini reinterpretation of the perfectly reasonable sequence of events questions every single thing she did for no valid reason and recast them as suspicious and pointing to guilt.
McJustice December 5, 2010 6:18 am (Pacific time)
That anybody continues to credit the many months later press attention induced Scream testimony is astonishing. The audibility of the alleged scream by those claiming to have heard it is a physical impossibility.. plus the time frame alleged by the prosecution places several direct witnesses much closer to the cottage... outside the front gate. None of them heard ANYthing like a scream or observed anyone leaving the cottage and running or talking. The scream testimony is the product of press sensationalism... induced in suggestible middle aged women, seized on by a prosecution desperate to support their flimsy case and not credible in any way at all. The really important evidence in any crime is AT THE ACTUAL MURDER SITE, that is, Meredith's bedroom... lack of real evidence there for Amanda and Raffaele makes other external evidence doubtful or imaginary. The believability or relevance of possible evidence does not increase with the distance from the site of the murder, the should decrease in importance and relevance barring very strong correlation and corroboration. Irrelevancies and fancies added or tacked on later with no real-world links to the actual murder must be subjected to very strict evaluation. Making the case depend on demonstrably weak or just plain suggested, assumed and imagined evidence external to the murder site demonstrates the utter absence of any verifiable or credible case against Amanda and Raffaele... and makes the guilty ruling all the more astonishing and a stain on Italian justice that need to be removed by the appeal.

It seems like such a waste of time for you to post long paragraphs of rhetoric that has already been disproved many months ago. Cases are based on information and logic. Lower Case Comments are submitted by submitted by: Harry Rag, 17 October, 2010 19:28. a commercial blogger
UPPER CASE CORRECTIONS AND EXPLAINATIONS ARE PRESENTED BY TONY DEL BALZO A NOTED EXPERT IN THE CASE
Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito were unanimously found guilty of the murder of Meredith Kercher because the evidence against them was overwhelming. THE EVDENCE WAS NOT OVERWHELMING AND IS EITHER TOTALLY ABSENT OR SUSPECT AT BEST. THE JURY VIOLATED ITS OATH TO TREAT THE SUSPECTS AS INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY, AS WAS APPARENT BY NEWS RELEASED BY THE PROSECUTER.
They repeatedly told the police a pack of lies in the days after Meredith’s murder. "PACK OF LIES IS A HUGE OVER EXADURATION AND ALL OF THE DISCREPENCIES ARE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF SOLLECITO.
On 5 November 2007, Knox and Sollecito were confronted with proof that they had lied and were given another opportunity to tell the truth. However, they both chose to tell the police even more lies. TOTALLY UNFOUNDED. NO LIES WERE EVER ESTABLISHED.
Sollecito’s new alibi was shattered by computer forensic evidence and his mobile phone records. TALK TO SOLLECITO ABOUT THIS, NOT KNOX. EVIDENCE WAS DESTROYED BY ITALY'S COMPUTER EXPERTS WHO FRIED THREE HARD DISKS, WHICH CONTAINED INFORMATION VITAL TO THE DEFENSE'S CASE.
Knox accused an innocent man, Patrick Diya Lumumba, of murdering Meredith despite knowing full well that he was completely innocent. SHE WAS CONFUSED AND MADE THIS COMMENT ONLY AFTER THE POLICE ACCUSED HER OF MEETING PATRICK BASED ON A MISTRANSLATED MESSAGE ON HER TELEPHONE AND AFTER SHE WAS TOLD TO "IMAGINE" HOW PATRICK WAS INVOLVED. SHE WAS PRESENTED WITH A NEGRO MALE HAIR AND TOLD HER THAT THIS WAS PROOF POSITIVE THAT SHE WAS INVOLVED. IN ANY CASE, THIS WAS A COERCED COMMENT.
She didn’t recant her false and malicious allegation against Lumumba the whole time he was in prison. HE FORGAVE HER, ACCORDING TO THE TELEGRAPH OUT OF LONDON.
She admitted that it was her fault that Lumumba was in prison in an intercepted conversation with her mother. AGAIN, SHE WAS COERCED INTO NAMING PATRICK. THE PERUGIAN POLICE BEAT PATRICK. HE'S ALIBI WAS NOT ACCEPTED BY THE POLICE AS PRESENTED BY HIS BLACK FRIENDS. IT WAS ONLY ACCEPTED AFTER A WHITE MAN ATTESTED FOR HIS WHEREABOUTS.
Knox’s account of what happened on 2 November 2007 is contradicted by her mobile phone records.
Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito both gave multiple conflicting alibis. SO, TALK TO SOLLECITO.
Neither Knox nor Sollecito have credible alibis for the night of the murder despite three attempt each. NOT TRUE. EACH HAD A CREDTIBLE ALIBI.
At the trial, Sollecito refused to corroborate Knox’s alibi that she was at his apartment. SOLLECITO DID NOT TESTIFY SO THERE WAS NO WAY FOR HIM TO CORROBORATE.
Rudy Guede’s bloody footprints led straight out of Meredith’s room and out of the house. WE DO NOT KNOW THIS BECAUSE THE ENTIRE HOUSE WAS NOT TESTED FOR FOOTPRNTS.
He didn’t lock Meredith’s door, remove his trainers, go into Filomena’s room or the bathroom that Meredith and Knox shared. HE ADMITED USING THE BATHROOM KNOX AND KERCHER SHARED AND LEFT POOP IN IT.
He didn’t scale the vertical wall outside Filomena’s room or gain access through the window. HE GAINED ACCESS TO THE HOUSE VIA THE WINDOW. DO NOT BLAME KNOX FOR THIS.
The break-in was clearly staged. TOTAL LIE AND UNPROVEN.
This indicates that somebody who lived at the cottage was trying to deflect attention away from themselves and give the impression that a stranger had broken in and killed Meredith. IT INDICATES ABSOLUTELY NOTHING OF THE KIND TOTALLY BOGUS!
Guede had no reason to stage the break-in and there was no physical evidence that he went into Filomena’s room. RUDY HAD TWO VERY GOOD REASONS FOR BREAKING INTO THE APARTMENT. SEX AND MONEY.
The scientific police found a mixture of Amanda Knox’s DNA and Meredith’s blood on the floor. YEAH, THAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU BLOW DRY HAIR. IT MEANS NOTHING.
There was no physical evidence that Rudy Guede went into the blood-spattered bathroom. EXCEPT FOR A BLOODY FOOTPRINTS HE LEFT.
However, the scientific police found irrefutable proof that Knox and Sollecito tracked Meredith’s blood into this bathroom. THIS IS A TOTAL LIE. TOTALLY UNFOUNDED.
Amanda Knox’s DNA was found co-mingled with Meredith’s blood in three different places in the bathroom: on the ledge of the basin, on the bidet, and on a box of Q Tips cotton swabs. Knox’s DNA and Meredith’s blood had united into one single streak on the basin and bidet which means they were deposited simultaneously. NO STREAK OF BLOOD SHOWS IN ANY POLICE PHOTO'S. IT SO TOTALLY DOES NOT MEAN THEY WERE HERE TOGETHER. IT MEANS SOMEONE (RUDY)SPREAD MEZ'S BLOOD AND KNOX BLEW DNA ON IT WHEN SHE BLEW DRY HER HAIR. KNOX HAD NO BLOOD ON HER AT ANY TIME. NEVER DID.
Sollecito left a visible bloody footprint on the blue bathmat. THE FOOTPRINT IS CLEARLY RUDY'S, UNLESS YOU HAVE A BIAS THAT TAINTS YOUR HONESTY.
According to two imprint experts, the woman’s bloody shoeprint on the pillow under Meredith’s body matched Knox’s foot size. THIS WAS CLEARLY COUNTERED AT TRIAL. THE FOOTPRINT WAS CLEARLY GUEDE'S. HARRY HAS YET TO ADMIT THIS OBVIOUS TRUTH.
The bloody shoeprint was incompatible with Meredith’s shoe size. INCOMPATITABLE IN ITALY MEANS MAYBE YES, MAYBE NO. IT IS NOT DEFINATIVE.
Knox’s and Sollecito’s bare bloody footprints were revealed by luminol in the hallway. A POSITIVE LUMINAL TEST IS NOT PROOF OF HUMAN BLOOD. THESE FOOTPRINTS WERE NEVER TESTED FOR BLOOD AND IT IS VERY NORMAL TO HAVE NON-BLOOD FOOTPRINTS IN YOUR HOUSE.
Knox’s DNA and Meredith’s DNA was found mixed together in one of the bloody footprints. THEREFORE, THIS MEANS THAT MEREDITH WALKED IN HER OWN BLOOD. THAT’S BIZZAR.
An abundant amount of Raffaele Sollecito’s DNA was found on Meredith’s bra clasp. "ABUNDANT" IS A LIE. A MINUTE AMOUNT WAS FOUND. FOUR OTHER PEOPLE LEFT DNA ON THAT CLASP. THERE IS A REASONABLE CHANCE THAT SOLLECITO'S DNA IS THE RESULT OF CONTAMINATION BY AN UNCLEAN POLICE LAB.
Sollecito must have applied considerable pressure to the clasp in order to have left so much DNA. SOMEONE MUST HAVE DONE THIS BUT IT IS ANOTHER ASSUMPTION TO THINK SOLLECITO DID THIS.
The hooks on the clasp were damaged which confirms that Sollecito had gripped them tightly. ANOTHER ASSUMPTION. BUT PROBABLY NOT SLLECITO CUZ IT'S JUST A GUESS ON THE POLICE'S PART.
Amanda Knox’s DNA was found on the handle of the double DNA knife and a number of independent forensic experts - WHILE ITALY MAY CONSIDER THESE UNTRAINED TECHNITIONS AS EXPERTS, THAT IS INCOMPATIBLE WITH THEIR SCANT LEVEL OF TRAINING.
Dr. Patrizia Stefanoni, Dr. Renato Biondo and Professor Francesca Torricelli - categorically stated that Meredith’s DNA was on the blade. BUT THEY CONDUCTED THE TESTS IN SECRET AND CAN NOT OR WILL NOT DUPLICATE THE TESTS. THIS SHOULD BE TESTED ON APPEAL.
Sollecito knew that Meredith’s DNA was on the blade which is why he twice lied about accidentally pricking her hand whilst cooking. SO TALK WITH SOLLECITO AND LET KNOX GO. BE HONEST ABOUT THIS.
The defense experts were unable to prove that there had been any contamination. Alberto Intini, head of the Italian police forensic science unit, pointed out that unless contamination has been proved, it does not exist. THE CHAIN OF CUSTODY WAS BROKEN AND THE KNIFE MAY HAVE BEEN TAINTED IN TRANSPORT WITH MANY OTHER KERCHER. ONLY A REASONABLE DOUBT HAS TO BE PROVEN AND WE ARE WAY BEYOND A REASONABLE DOUBT. AN INTERNATIONAL PANEL OF DNA EXPERTS HAS DISMISSED ALL OF THE DNA EVIDENCE AGAINST KNOX.
DR. PATRIZIA STEFANONI TESTIFIED UNDER OATH THAT SHE FAILED TO CHANGE GLOVES AND WORE HER JEWELS DURING THE EVIDENCE GATHERING PROCESS.
Amanda Knox voluntarily admitted that she involved in Meredith’s murder in her handwritten note to the police on 6 November 2007. She stated on at least four separate occasions that she was at the cottage when Meredith was killed. KNOX WAS NOT TOLD SHE WAS A SUSPECT FOR MANY DAYS. SHE WAS HELPING THE POLICE AND THE POLICE TOLD (ORDERED) HER TO IMAGINE WHO COULD HAVE DONE THIS, INCLUDING HERSELF. TO COMPLY WITH POLICE REQUESTS SHE WROTE A SERIES OF UNLIKELY SITUATIONS. THE SUPREME COURT SAID THESE WRITINGS ARE NOT ADMISSIBLE IN COURT. THEY WERE INCLUDED IN A CIVIL CASE, NOT A CRIMINAL CASE

THIS VERSION OF THE SEMI-SECRET COURT DOCUMENT WAS TRANSLATED OVER 9 MONTHS OF CAREFUL CONSTRUCTING AND EDITING BY PEOPLE WHO THINK THAT TWO WRONGS MAKE A RIGHT. THERE IS AN ANY-KNOX BEND TO THE TRANSLATION. EXAMPLE: KNOX'S SIDE OF THE STORY WAS LABELED WHIMSICALLY AS "AMANDA'S TALE, NOT AMANDA'S STATEMENTS.
Is it any wonder that Knox hater and amateur psychologist, Barbie Nadeau said on page 201 of her otherwise worthless book "...Amanda Knox did not receive a fair trial"?

Well written Harry - I get tired of all these Knox supporters and wait patiently for the day the appeal is over, and she is behind bars for 26 or longer...as she deserves.
Patrick King December 4, 2010 11:09 pm (Pacific time)
@Harry Rag It's going to take more than cutting a pasting your over used and out dated rhetoric to discredit this man's work. Back to the drawing board, Harry... if you still have the stomach for it.

Is Ron the replacement for the hilarious Steve Moore? Hope Ron and Steve talk where and when it counts, in court giving witness evidence. Though my peronal opinion is that they both know that their fantasies are not good enough.
Sunny December 4, 2010 9:18 pm (Pacific time)
This covers a potential scenario on how the physical attack happened inside the room. It doesn't explain away all the other evidence. The scream heard by multiple witnesses between 11 and 11:30pm does not correspond with this theory. Rafael's DNA being on Merideth's bra clasp is sure inconvenient as well. Amanda saying she was in the kitchen when she heard Meredith scream? And then contradicting that with other stories? Yeah, innocent people do that all day long. And Merideth's DNA profile being on a knife found in Rafael's apartment? Bummer. Think you need to work on your theory just a wee bit more.

To Hendry Thank you Hendy and you have just ace it big time by nailing it, so well, of explain excellent detail, and it a well done job. So thank you Hendry of doing an excellent job!!!
Michael December 4, 2010 7:47 pm (Pacific time)
Amanda Knox is innocent and this article is just one more thing that proves it.
observer December 4, 2010 7:26 pm (Pacific time)
Hendry's analysis reads well but it still leaves some unanswered questions. Not the questions from reader above this comment, those footprints etc can all be explained away as having happened after the fact, when Knox, or Knox and Sollecito, came to the house and found the situation. To me that is where this story simply does not make sense. Why wouldn't Knox get to the nearest phone and call the Italian version of 911? Or, if she herself didn't know the number to call for emergency help in Italy, then call Sollecito immediately and have him do so? To me it doesn't make any sense that she didn't immediately contact the police, that is pretty much what any person in a European country or the US would do upon coming home and being confronted with a murder scene of their roommate. It makes no sense that they were hanging around at all, doing anything. If I came upon a scene like that I'd get myself away from it immediately in case the murderer was still possibly loitering, and I'd call the police asap for help.
@Harry December 4, 2010 5:59 pm (Pacific time)
I see you've been reading a lot of Italian press. The DNA samples you speak of have been severely compromised, as has been your definition of "voluntarily admitted". Why don't you tune in to the press (even Italian) in 7 days and learn what really happened.
John Delahunt December 4, 2010 4:55 pm (Pacific time)
Well, I'm convinced. When you look at it like that, how can anyone argue with it. Can this guy testify in Italy?
Fred December 4, 2010 3:08 pm (Pacific time)
This article was very enlightening.
Michael December 4, 2010 3:14 pm (Pacific time)
I'd say Mr. Hendry has nailed it. Totally convincing reconstruction.
PhanuelB December 4, 2010 3:13 pm (Pacific time)
Ron Hendry is but one person in a growing grass-roots movement who have come together to confront a modern day witch hunt. None of these people are paid for anything and none are taking orders from anybody. Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito were subjected to a kangaroo court in a modern European nation that should know better. It's that bad.
Ron Hendry is not the only observer to take a close look at the case and declare it a travesty of justice. Others include Senator Maria Cantwell, Judge Michael Heavey, John Q. Kelly, Doug Preston, Paul Ciolino, Peter Van Sant, and Judy Bachrach. These people have all spoken in unprecedented language on major media outlets.
The tragic murder of Meredith Kercher was a straight forward sexually motivated homicide of a young woman in her prime by a troubled male. That crime happens every day somewhere around the world.
Vast evidence indicates that the crime was committed by a local thug from the Ivory Coast named Rudy Guede. His palm print is there in the victim's blood; his DNA is everywhere including inside the sexual areas of the victim; he wasn’t friends with the victim; he flees; he admits being there; he had motive and he had defensive wounds. His story is that the victim invited him over for a date, they had consensual sexual contact, and that somebody else came in and killed her while he was in the bathroom. Only an idiot would believe that story. He says he comforted the victim while she lay bleeding to death but he does not call an ambulance or police. Later that night he is seen dancing at a disco. The next day he flees to Germany. When questioned by police he says nothing about Amanda or Raffaele. His defensive wounds he claims are from his heroic attempts to fight off the real attacker.
In the weeks prior to the crime Rudy Guede had been involved in a series of armed break-ins including one where he threatened someone with a knife inside their own home. Italian police knew about at least three such incidents in the 33 days prior to the crime but never took appropriate action. Raffaele Sollecito did not know who he was. Amanda Knox worked in a bar and he was a bar crawler so she had seen him around, nothing more. There was no Internet or cell phone contact between Guede and the others ever even though all used the technology regularly. They did not, as the prosecution alleges, get together for a sex orgy.
The Italian police have been busy giving themselves awards for their framing of two innocent college kids, but the fact remains that if they had simply done their jobs and taken Rudy Guede off the streets prior to the murder, then Meredith Kercher would still be with us.
There was no physical evidence of Amanda Knox in the room where the murder occurred, none. Other DNA evidence presented by the prosecution from her bathroom simply proves that she lived there, nothing more.
One of the reasons that this case has spun out of control is the despicable performance of the European tabloid press. Early on they reported that Amanda Knox had had 6 sexual partners in Italy and that she had written in her diary that Raffaele might have done it. Both statements were heinous lies. In America, journalists have asked the hard questions and taken the Italian public officials to task for their performance. In contrast, the European press has failed miserably in its responsibilities.
If any one doubts that Italian police were willing to abuse Amanda and to lie about it, they should take a look at the HIV incident. Shortly after her arrest Italian police sent in a fake doctor to tell Amanda she was HIV positive. They hoped to obtain information on her past sexual contacts. There was never any scientific result that might be interpreted as a false positive. Devastated as any person would be after such news, Amanda listed in her diary all of the sexual partners in her life. Corrupt prison officials confiscated these entries and sold them to the tabloid press where it was reported, falsely, that the sexual contacts were all with Italian men during her short time in Italy. Anyone who did something like that in the US would go to jail. Where is the Italian medical profession to condemn this abuse?
In the words of Paul Ciolino, a private investigator put on scene by CBS news, the trial of Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito was “an injustice of biblical proportions.” Senator Maria Cantwell of the State of Washington has said that an impartial jury could not have reached this decision. Commentators on Larry King Live called it a “kangaroo court” and a “public lynching.” Ron Hendry should be commended for speaking out.

What a great article. Much thanks to Mr. Hendry for helping me to better understand this case. It is clear that a miscarriage of justice occurred in the convictions of Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito.
Sarah December 4, 2010 1:19 pm (Pacific time)
Thanks Salem News! This is intensely interesting information. It is really riveting to look at his analysis and follow along. I hope this information will help lead to the acquittal of Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito from their wrongful conviction!

Analysis of this detailed, thorough, high caliber should be introduced at the upcoming second trial.
AJ December 4, 2010 1:05 pm (Pacific time)
Expert opinion and commonsense have consistently confirmed this was a burglary gone wrong and Meredith Kercher was murdered by a lone male attacker who was much stronger than she was. The only question which remains is why Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito have been wrongfully prosecuted for this crime?
AJ December 4, 2010 1:02 pm (Pacific time)
Expert opinion and commonsense consistently show the true facts of this case -- a burglary gone wrong, a murder by a single individual who was much stronger than the victim. Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito have been wrongfully prosecuted. The only real question which remains is -- why did the authorities prosecute innocent people? and when will the Italian justice system rectify this gross miscarriage of justice?
henry December 4, 2010 1:02 pm (Pacific time)
And whom do you want to believe in this garbage? Have some decency editor.
Harry Rag December 4, 2010 12:50 pm (Pacific time)
The evidence against Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito is overwhelming. They gave completely different accounts of where they were, who they were with and what they were doing on the night of the murder. Neither Knox nor Sollecito have credible alibis despite three attempts each. All the other people who were questioned had one credible alibi that could be verified. Innocent people don't give multiple conflicting alibis and lie repeatedly to the police.
[Return to Top]The DNA didn't miraculously deposit itself in the most incriminating of places.
An abundant amount of Raffaele Sollecito's DNA was found on Meredith's bra clasp.
There were five instances of Knox's DNA mixed with Meredith's blood in three different locations in the cottage.
This means that he didn't stage the break-in in Filomena's room or go into the blood-spattered bathroom after Meredith had been stabbed.
Sollecito left a visible bloody footprint on the blue bathmat in the bathroom. Knox's and Sollecito's bare bloody footprints were revealed by luminol in the hallway.
It's not a coincidence that the three people - Knox, Sollecito and Guede - who kept telling the police a pack of lies are all implicated by the DNA and forensic evidence.
Amanda Knox voluntarily admitted that she was involved in Meredith's murder in her handwritten note to the police on 6 November 2007.
