Japan is Venting Radiation High Into Atmosphere

There are reports that teachers are forcing school children to eat food that their parents told them not to eat.

(HUMBOLDT, Calif.) - Radioactive cesium exceeding 8,000 becquerels/kg has been detected in the ashes from burning the regular household garbage in Kanto and Tohoku regions. The Ministry of the Environment has decided to apply the same rule as the disaster debris and allow the ashes to be buried. The municipalities will be able to bury the ashes that they have stored temporarily, but it may be difficult to obtain consent from the residents living near the disposal facilities.

"Burning that waste and with radioactive, rain will come down again upon their own people, as well as Canada and the U.S. They're refusing to see the seriousness of this disaster and it's making it worse.", says nuclear engineer Arnie Gundersen.

In other areas it has reached as high as "100,000 becquerels/kg", in Fukushima, ashes, after burning household garbage . . . 95,300 becquerels/kg. This new policy is to be applied to ashes from disaster debris and regular garbage that are radioactive. It's not mentioned in the article but the ashes and slag from the radioactive sewage sludge will likely be disposed under the same policy - i.e. burn and bury.

Some garbage incinerators and sludge incinerators at waste processing plants and sewage treatment plants in cities in Kanto have become so radioactive that they have to be shut down.

The entire country is potentially a nuclear waste disposal site, because of this one disaster.

Those following all this know Fukushima City should have been evacuated right from the beginning. - Fukushima Cesium-137 Leaks 'Equal 168 Hiroshimas'

With regard to Fukushima, Kobe University Radiation Expert Prof. Tomoya Yamauchi, said of this city of 290,000 People: "Evacuation Must Be Conducted As Soon As Possible".

Prof. Chris Busby says Fukushima is like the TITANIC - suggesting that the Japanese government is completely out of order and if it continuous its course of action then it is a criminal organization - "I Am Too Frightened To Go Closer To Meltdowns Than 100 Km' Because Of High Levels Of Radiation".

In relation to the evacuation of Fukushima, Japanese Journalist Takashi Hirose said: "It's like killing our own children, I cannot allow it to happen". There are reports that teachers are forcing school children to eat food that their parents told them not to eat.

Prof. Tatsuhiko Kodama of Tokyo University said Japan's government needs a wakeup call, adding that many are 'Shaking With Anger'. His quote: "What Are You Doing?"

A recent alert indicated that Greenpeace Radiation Measurements in Fukushima City hot spots is showing at 500-700 Times Normal!

Again, over 290,000 people are In Danger.

Human Errors With Devastating Consequences

Japan's system to forecast radiation threats was working from the moment this whole nuclear crisis began, march 11, . (but not used by humans who evidently did not look at reports) As officials first planned a venting operation certain to release radioactivity into the air, the system predicted Karino Elementary School would be directly in the path of the plume emerging from the tsunami-hit Fukushima Dai-Ichi nuclear plant. But no one acted upon this.

The school, just over six miles from the plant, was not immediately cleared out. Quite the opposite. It was turned into a temporary evacuation center. Human errors compounding human losses

Reports from the forecast system were sent to Japan's nuclear safety agency, but the flow of data stopped there. Prime Minister Naoto Kan and others involved in declaring evacuation areas never saw the reports, and neither did local authorities. So thousands of people stayed for days in areas that the system had identified as high-risk, an Associated Press investigation has found.

The only thing that matters to ALL of us is the corking of the well/radioactive fallout; volcanic ash/zeolite and bentonite clay to BURY the reactors, until there is no more steam or smoke. the ash will absorb all the radiation. turn it into a mountain and let the ash flow down into the sea, to be entombed in the bottom of the trenches. Oh, and the rest of us can round up some suspects and post the evidence where the japanese people can find it.

If we have another or two power plant meltdown in the northern hemisphere due to earthquakes etc,and there are may nuclear plants around it would make this planet or at least the northern half uninhabitable ,and the way things are it looks like to me that we won't have to wait to long.Remember it will be every man for himself and family be PREPARED.

I am not violent by nature but if my kid was forced to eat something dangerous at school, the teacher would get the back of my hand. No questions asked! I was in Fukushima at the time of the disaster. Fortunately, I had the good sense and means to get my child out of there but I have heard from friends there that this is indeed the case. Children are being forced to eat the food or they are being singled out at the front of the class for not eating it. I feel like taking a trip back just so I can slap some of them.

when will they realize that the entire country will have to be evacuated? this disaster just gets worse by the day!

I am horrified at what the japanese government is doing as well as our unintelligent group of morons that run our country australia . My ex wife and the merrimac primary school that my 12 year old son attends are sending him to japan for a school exchange student program. I refused to let him go so the ex takes me to court and the dumb blond magistrate who 's words were its all to scientific for me , overuled me and is sending him to japan along with 30 other 12 yr old students. I am distraught and going out of my mind here , this media black out on the japan crisis needs to be exsposed before too many people die.

As the problem is an ongoing and worsening one (or did the magic fairy come down and stop the continuous contamination) Give it time and there will be nowhere to hide (on the surface anyway). Surely we should be demanding that the warmongers use their might to cover the errant stations with pebbles if need be and evacuate according to the readings? If that is too tall an order, at least tell the truth and let us work out a plan, cos theirs ain't working.(oops, sorry, it is, cos most people think there is no problem.)

These Nuclear Power Plants are time bombs ready to destroy Mankind{Davis-Bessie}.Can these Nuclear Plants be salvage? GE is also an major player in the Nuclear Industry!

Growing up in Sudbury Canada, we were exposed to high levels of "acid rain" within a 50 mile radius of this INCO built 1,000 foot smoke stack. By building a taller smoke stack, they believed that spreading the pollution over a larger area would lessen the overall effect. However, this proved to be untrue. In the end it made made no difference. The same devastation was recorded 50 miles away as what was seen 20 miles away. This nickel smelting chimney caused the dying off of so much of our environment with acid rain that I am horrified that Japan has now taken this foolish and deadly measure claiming that it will assist in the problem of what to do with their radiation refuse. What horrors will the radiation fall out cause the people of Japan? I hate to even think about it.

couldnt samurai deliver a beheading to a criminal and make an excuse and leave?. think maybe you need a few samurai, time to put down the pens and pick up your swords.

I've been living in Japan for almost 40 years, and I must say that the local culture is fairly blind to the problems that arise from atmospheric pollution caused by burning refuse. Plastic, industrial waste, building materials---just burn it up and the problem goes away. Even before the radioactive ash, Japan has had a significant and underreported dioxin problem. E.g., my neighbors dug a hole and used it as a fire pit, seeming to prefer to burn following rain, with nice wet refuse not getting enough oxygen because below ground surface level, so of course lots of smoke and carbon monoxide are also produced. (This is fairly common practice.) The culture is so visually oriented that making things disappear by burning them must seem like a good idea, I guess... The smoke goes up and away from here, and where it comes down is not MY problem...

I have been keeping a close eye ever since the earthquake in March, using resources like Arnie and Maggie Gunderson at Fairewinds, 'EX-SKF', Rense, and several others. Your reporting appears to be close to the fact, if not 'spot-on'. Until the Japanese government comes to the realization that Honshu, and a great part of the other islands, will end up uninhabitable IN PERPITUITY unless they do what the Russians did in Chernoybl (but on a much larger scale), people will continue to die (not only in Nippon, but the rest of the Northern Hemisphere). The longer they wait, the worse it will become. I never thought that I would be posting on a blog from Salem, Oregon, and agreeing with the 'no nukes' people, but times are changing, I suppose. This appears to be a case of 'Corporate profits and government cronyism in the short term override human lives in the long term' (or the medium term)'. Heck, Chernoybl will be unsafe for many thousands of years, unless constant attention is paid to maintaining the sarcophagus that entoumbs it for the forseeable future... I see that fukushina DAIINI is also having some issues, as I surf the web... Potassium Iodide only works with Cesium-134 exposure. Can you imagine the boon to the 'healthcare service providers' and the 'pharmecutical companies' as they scramble to invent nostrums that 'protect the populace'? how about Monsanto? They gould engineer a new form of lettuce that does not absorb this radioactive rainwater in the Northwest, and sell these GMO seeeds to ALL the farmers... This of course, is an extreme example of the Hegelian Dialectic... I Am MontgomeryScott Stay healthy, if you can.

It is Japan's way of getting even with the U.S. for Nagasaki and Hiroshima.  Could this be one of those "what goes around comes around" moments?

Editor: Are you trying to be funny or are you really such a dick that you would write this seriously?  No, I can answer your stupid question, this is not what comes around goes around, you're an insult to cruel people.  Those poor little kids, and you...  No wonder people hate Americans so much.

If I was one of those parents I would teach my child to politely say to the teacher, "Honorable teacher, I will not eat radioactive food. May I suggest that instead, you insert it into your rectum."

K.Rougeau August 30, 2011 11:31 am (Pacific time)

Thanks for the article, may I go a step further and suggest further reading on what is really happening in Japan?

There has been practically a complete MSM black out of information on this. This is well orchestrated by the Japanese, US, UK, govts. along with others. I suspect many reasons, financial woes, ally affiliations, the Nuclear Energy Industry, and usual diplomatic correctness.

The lives of hundreds of thousands, if not millions of people in Japan and in certain areas of the US is happening slowly, invisibly, and without their knowledge.
Every time it rains, radiation in the jet stream comes down. This horrid burning of radiated waste is also going to get into said atmosphere along with what is already there.

Educate yourselves, look at the Russian evidence of Chernobyl. They have kept records of this ONE reactor disaster since it happened in 1986. The breadth and range of the radioactive pollution is still found in England, Germany ( wild boars have to to be tested and the German Govt. compensates hunters for killing them financially )

Reading sites to check:

www.enenews.com

http://ex-skf.blogspot.com/

www.Fukushima-Diary.com

The last is a local blog in Fukushima where people feel free to tell what they and their neighbors are seeing first hand. The Japanese govt is trying to even go so far as to shut these sites down.

Be Very Careful. Those in the NE of the US and across the northern states are reposting in small alternate news sites and local stations of elevated stillbirths, very high radiation readings after rains.

San Francisco in the last couple of days found Iodine 131 in local milk. Imagine the amount of contamination in Japan!!

To Addoryu Yes, Please leave and inform others. Do not wait on the Japanese Govt. or TEMPCO to tell you the truth. It will never happen. :(

Hence, alternate methods are necessary to find out any factual

Jane August 30, 2011 8:48 am (Pacific time)

It's the end of the world as we know it.

Andoryu August 29, 2011 10:01 pm (Pacific time)

This sucks! For 12 years I have considered Japan my home. I guess it's time for me to leave.
