(AUMSVILLE) - Thousands came to Porter Boone Park on Saturday to enjoy hot buttered corn-on-the-cob, and more during the 38th Annual Aumsville Corn Festival. Thousands lined the streets of Aumsville to watch a family-fun parade make it’s way through town. This years Grand Marshal was Louis Bales, and there were over 100 entries in this year's parade. Local fire and police departments, churches, Boy Scout Troops, businesses, and even the Santiam Shrine Club, in their motorized bathtubs participated in the parade. Everyone seemed to forget about the heat and had a world of fun as the parade marched it’s way through town. Kids especially enjoyed it, thanks to parade participants who littered the streets with candy. After the parade, most made their way down to Porter Boone Park to enjoy free hot buttered corn-on-the-cob. Many brought their kids little red wagon and filled them with bags of fresh corn. During the festival, corn was sold -- 10 ears for $1. Festival goers also enjoyed a Treasure Hunt, Keg Toss, Egg Toss, Single Sack Race, 3 Legged Race, Corn Eating Contest, and a Park Clean-up Contest.
