(MOLALLA, Ore.) - I recently posted MJ/Cannabis for Pain & PTSD Part 1 on Salem-news.com Aug 11, 2009, indicating that Marijuana/Cannabis was much superior to both aspirin-like drugs and also most of the Morphine-like drugs.

This article is about the really weird drugs prescribed to both PTSD Veterans and non-veterans. The consensus is that most of these drugs make PTSD patients feel worse (if anybody disagrees with me please email newsroom@salem-news.com).

There are a whole bunch of aspirin-like NSAIDS, at least 22 of them. There are so many because most don’t work well.

After that are the ANTI-DEPRESSANTS which are prescribed on the basis that depression causes pain, actually it is just the opposite – pain causes depression. Get rid of the pain – no depression.

STEROIDS are a different class acting as ANTI-INFLAMATORIES. They are used especially for that.

ANTI-CONVULSANTS are the first class of WEIRD medications. What their connection to PTSD and pain is confuses me.

LOCAL ANESTHETICS have limited value as they are injected for specific sites.

CAPSAICIN is about the weirdest. It is the chemical in pepper. It is usually called counter-irritant, my foot it IS an irritant.

The MUSCLE RELAXANTS acting against muscle spasms are really weird. If you want to go on a trip without moving, this is what you are looking for.

Another class is ANTI-PSYCHOTICS. I’m sure World War II drove some of us crazy but nobody ever said they were good for PTSD or pain.

Some may feel that there is a jumble about what is beneficial for PTSD and pain. You are correct. In World War II, my war, we had about 200 thousand dead but about ONE MILLION wounded and those wounded may be graded from one to ten, one being minimal while ten is extremely severe. Many 8, 9, and 10’s are still being treated. Many turned into ALCOHOLICS but didn’t last long. TOBACCO probably killed millions. The truth is that they were not getting proper care in VA Hospitals.

Marijuana/Cannabis can be/is the best replacement for almost all of the classes of drugs mentioned above. Hundreds of thousands of Vets and non-vets are using it now. My reference for this was my computer – Pain Medications!

WHEN WILL MEDICAL CANNABIS/MARIJUANA BE LEGALIZED?!?!
