(PORTLAND, Ore. ) - Ed Baker of Portland, Oregon has filed paperwork with the Federal Elections Commission to run for President of the United States in the 2016 election.

Baker said he isn't a member of any political party, secret society, or the CIA. He said he will work with everyone and that he would like to see America again at it's best.

He will be in touch with, represent, and work for the people of America. He said he knows what it's like to go without, as he was homeless for 18-months.

If elected, Baker said he will work hard for all 1,461 days of his term as President.

"I am as serious as can be about this campaign. I want to restore the freedoms we have lost in recent years. I have a detailed plan for getting on the ballot in every state and having a real chance of winning this election. The people will decide. They will know that they have more than two options this time."

Among the issues that Baker says he is most passionate about are:

• Deporting all illegal aliens.

• Defending gun owner rights.

• Reopen the 9/11/2001 investigation to find out who planned, executed and covered up the attacks.

• Reduce wasteful spending.

• Lower the unemployment rate while helping small and medium sized businesses.

• Reduce the $17 trillion national debt and the $50 billion in annual foreign aid.

• Legalize marijuana, and free the 20,000 inmates who only have a marijuana related convictions, and use those resources to house dangers to society: rapists, child molesters, drug dealers and people who intimidate, threaten or abuse women, men, children or animals.

• Labeling of GMO's.

• Term limits for members of Congress. No lifetime salaries.

• Better Care of the military, Veterans and their families.

• Tackle the mental health in America. Counseling and help for everyone in need of it.

• Shutting down the drug cartels, and putting a stop to gang violence in America.

• Hold people in positions of power to higher high standards. and when they abuse their power have significant punishment for them.

• Pardon Chelsea Manning and Edward Snowden.

• Reduce postage stamp rates, and service to five days a week.

• Restore convicted felons right to vote.

• Reduce classroom sizes and less students per teacher.

• More Drilling for oil in America. Which would create more jobs, reduced cost and dependency on foreign oil.

Baker said that he knows not everyone will agree with him on everything, and that he is always open to listening to other prospective ideas on important issues. When he gets new information and learns about it, Baker said he will always review his position.

"It's not about who's right, but rather what is right for America. The main reason to vote for me is because we have to change the type of people we are putting into elected positions of power. It is going to get a lot worse soon if we don't take action." Baker said.

"I'm going after the bad guys. This country has more good than evil, and it's time to take our country back. You'll have another option in 2016 -- you can choose more of the same -- or take a chance on someone that will be in touch with, represent and work for all Americans. The choice is yours."
