(SALEM, Ore. ) - A woman helped a man escape from the Mill Creek Correctional Facility in Salem Saturday afternoon. Police are searching for 34-year-old Jerry Teixeira, and 27-year-old Lacy Kay Evans, after he was last seen by MCCF staff at 2:40 p.m. Officials say they believe Teixeira walked away from the minimum security prison -- located five miles southeast of Salem -- to a waiting vehicle driven by Evans. Teixeira is described as 6'1, 190 pounds, with brown hair and green eyes. Teixeira was last seen wearing blue jeans with the word "inmate" and the DOC logo stenciled on the knee in orange, and a blue t-shirt with the word "inmate" and the DOC logo stenciled in orange on the front and back. Evans is described as 6 feet with short platinum blonde hair, and has distinctive tattoos on her chest. Teixeira entered DOC custody on October 1, 2013, on two counts of burglary II, one count of possession of methamphetamine, one count of delivering methamphetamine, and one count of felon in possession of a firearm out of Marion County. His earliest release date is September 5, 2015. Anyone with information regarding these two suspects is urged to call the Oregon State Police at 1-800-452-7888.
