(PORTLAND, Ore. ) - Portland Police are still investigating an armed robbery, and shooting that injured a 58-year-old female Thursday afternoon.

Portland Police spokesman Stg. Pete Simpson says just after 3:00 p.m., East Precinct officers responded to Dotty's, located at 11926 Southeast Division Street, on the report of a robbery and shooting. Officers and medical personnel responded and located a 58-year-old female victim suffering from a single gunshot wound. She was transported to a Portland hospital for treatment for what appears to be a non-life-threatening injury.

Robbery detectives have learned that the suspect entered Dotty's and demanded money from the business. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, he began to leave followed by the shooting victim, who was a patron. The suspect shot her then ran out of the area, Simpson said.

Witnesses described the suspect to police as an African American male in his 20's, 5'6" tall, thin build, wearing dark clothes and carrying a handgun. The suspect was last seen running westbound on Division Street.

Anyone with information about this robbery and shooting is asked to contact Detective Darren Posey at (503) 823-0403 or the Portland Police Non-Emergency Line at (503) 823-3333.
