(TURNER, Ore. ) - It didn't take all the King's Horses and all the King's Men to put this Humpty Dumpty back together again after his great fall at a theme park in Turner, Oregon. Humpty Dumpty came crashing down from his wall at the Enchanted Forest on July 5, after two men told park officials that they accidentally caused the famous children's character to come crashing down when they climbed up his wall to get a photo with him. Those two men offered to pay for the damage they caused park officials said. 84-year-old Roger Tofte owner of the Enchanted Forest and the artist who created the Humpty Dumpty statue, which is made of cement, is hoping to complete putting Humpty Dumpty back together again before the park closes for the season September 29. The layers of cement should be completed very soon, and painting should being shortly after that, and if the weather stays dry, the hope is he will be ready in time for the public to see again before the end of next month. If not, he will greet visitors when the park re-opens in late March of 2015. The statue, has been a part of the theme park since it first opened back in 1971. Humpty Dumpty is a character in an English nursery rhyme, and was popularized in the United States by actor George L. Fox. The earliest known version was published in Samuel Arnold's Juvenile Amusements in 1797. The first recorded versions of the rhyme date from late eighteenth century in England.
