(SALEM, Ore.) - Monday about 5:00 p.m., the Clackamas County Sheriffs Office responded to 15715 S. Hattan Road, Oregon City based on information received from the Newberg Police concerning 32-year old Jonathan Williams, a Murder Suspect from their jurisdiction.

At 4:30 a.m. Saturday, neighbors in Dundee heard several gunshots and notified police. After searching for an hour, 30-year old Timothy Craig Long's body in a nearby driveway.

Their investigation led them to attain a felony warrant for Williams, who was believed to be Armed and Dangerous. The suspect's criminal background included information that he was known to frequently possess firearms, had been known to wear body armor, and was an alleged user of meth.

The Dundee murder scene has no reflection on the neighborhood, police said, because the area was a convenient meeting spot for Williams and Long, and their altercation occurred there.

In Oregon City, Clackamas County Sheriffs Office Deputies set up containment of the house prior to the CCSO Special Weapons and Tactics Team arriving. Mr. Williams apparently saw this and ran from the house, but he was taken into custody immediately without further incident.

Jonathan Williams was positively identified as the suspect in the Newberg Homicide and is being taken to the CCSO North Station at this time.

Williams' wife, 30-year old Misty Mae Williams was arrested for hindering prosecution on Saturday, a Class C felony, bail set at $5,000. She posted the required $500 Sunday to secure her release. She tentatively will be arraigned on the charge at 1:20 p.m. Monday.

Police units were still at the house in Oregon City as of 6:30 p.m. Sunday, attempting to make contact with a female inside, according to Sgt. Pete Tutmark, Incident Commander at the scene. It is unknown who she is at this time.

This case's quick progress was a collaborative effort of over 150 officers and deputies from several agencies. Included in the initial scene investigation were detectives and search and rescue volunteers with the Yamhill County Sheriff's Office, detectives from the McMinnville Police Department and the Yamhill County District Attorney's Office. Those agencies are part of the Yamhill County Major Crime Response Team.

The Dundee Public Works Department helped provide crime scene protection and control. Continued assistance with Long's family is also being provided by the Yamhill County Victim Assistance, a part of the District Attorney's Office.

Williams' Nissan Sentra was recovered Sunday morning

Assistance in Saturday evening's search warrant in Forest Grove and Sunday's encounter involving Williams' car were provided by deputies from the Washington County Sheriff's Office, including their Tactical and Negotiations Team.

Officers from the Forest Grove Police Department were helpful in the Sunday morning incident. Deputies from the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office were instrumental in helping arrest Williams at the Hatton Road address in Oregon City on Sunday afternoon.

Both patrol deputies and members of their Special Weapons and Tactics team were important keys in arresting Williams safely and without incident.

Investigators from the Oregon State Police Crime Lab provided help in processing the large crime scene, spanning about 10-square blocks.

An initial court date for Williams is not yet set. He was initially processed in Clackamas County, pending transfer to the Yamhill County Jail Sunday night. He is being held without bail.

FIRST OFF TIM LONG LYED DEAD FOR 45min BEFORE DUNDEE POLICE ACTUALLY DID THEIR 2nd DRIVE THRU THE NEIGHBORHOOD DOWN CEDAR ST. POINT BEING THAT TIMS LIFELESS BODY LAY THERE FOR A WHOLE 45 EFFIN MIN. SO ANYONE HAD ACCESS FOR THAT PERIOD OF TIME TO THE CRIME SCENE

Family/Friends October 7, 2011 10:14 pm (Pacific time)

Jurors really need to get some kind of common sense test or something. I was at the trial most of the days. Jonathan completely changed his story. He had a whole year to do so. He lied through his teeth, I thought that was obvious to everyone. There were two jurors that saw right through his lies though. Go Ducks!! The juror with the smile on his face all the time(right on). GUILTY all the way!!! He knew what he was doing they were running away from him, he brought a night time vision gun. That he normally wouldn't use. Jonathan had him in perfect sight and hit him in the back staight through his heart.. WTF is wrong with those people?? Jonathan, Jonathan... poor Jonathan is not looking at a very good life either.. Tim has many friends from around the country in prisons everywhere.. I do believe Jonathan will not make it LONG..

Family October 7, 2011 11:52 pm (Pacific time)

Okay, first of all, can anybody get Tim's age right? He was 8 days away from being 30. Timothy's DOB was 8/8/80. I just want to say I was there for most of the trial and am shocked of the outcome. It was very obvious to us (family friends State) what had really happened that night. Johnathan decided to take Tim's life and try for 3 others he was not going to let anybody get away with his dope. Jonathan's story had completely changed from a year ago. At first there was never any talk of the other two people McGriff and Winans jumping him also. Only the fact that they were running away from him along with Justin Nichols and Tim when Jonathan aimed focused and fired, hitting Tim in the back, as he was running away from him.. Jonathan took it to a whole diferent level that night.. He was not going to let anybody get away with his dope or money even if had to take all of their lives that night. WTF is wrong with the jurors?? Wow, It's called common sense. Tim was shot in the back. The robbery didn't get far and as a matter of fact sounds like it didn't even happen. Nichols and Tim were at Williams car(Nichols inside and Tim was outside) Nichols struck Jonathan and Tim maybe got one hit in before Jonathan got a good grip on his gun, they ran for their lives. He was in a BLIND RAGE. How dare someone try and rip him off.. He was going to show them (and he did). You mess with the Bull you get the horns, Right?? Wow, Those were his quotes in his jail house phone call to his wife. Jonathan also talked about how Tim (as he called him kid) was very well liked and his wife responded yes very liked. They have no idea who Tim really was. 11:02 pm - Fri, October 7 2011 Long's said: Timmy was very loved and had a great deal of unconditional love for his family and close friends (as he would call them bro's). He would have done anything for the ones he loved. Tim had Special names for those that were close too. He called his daughter Dingle butt, I was bee bopper or queen bee, his mother was little little little one dad was pop's and sister was sissy or Heth. He had special names for many that he loved and cared about. He is still thought of every second of every day.. Tim we all miss you and will see you soon someday. 11:16 pm - Fri, October 7 2011 Long's said: Jonathan will have to answer to god on judgment day.. I have a feeling it might be sooner then later. Don't know many of Tim's friends these days but many many many people I believe or not very happy about their lose of their homeboy (as Tim would say).. Tim would always say his homeboys were his family too. I do believe there are many people awaiting Jonathan's presence.. I pray that Jonathan have some kind of remorse for what he has done that way he will have it easier in his after life. If he just would have acted like he cared at all that he took someone's baby boy, brother, father I would feel a little more for him.. As far as I can see he's not sorry he's just a cold blooded killer who is likely to do it again. I also would like to say that his parents are in our prayers too. It's not your fault.. You can not help but love your little boy even though the horrible things he has done. We feel bad for your lose too, at least they can visit him in jail or prison. We can no longer go to talk to Tim or hear his voice or see his face..

The verdict is in! October 5, 2011 4:02 pm (Pacific time)

Unfortunate September 28, 2011 10:33 pm (Pacific time)

Its unfortunate that even if he wasn't guilty, Now all those peoples families and family friends, Its unfortunate for Williams for he needs to seek forgiveness and whilst he sand on holy ground and prays he shall have great chances god shall forgive him but I not dare the lord my god even for the slimest chance of him to show his wraith. may god have mercy on your soul.

To many people have gotten hurt and there lives destroyed because of this. thanks Misty. Your husband cheated and your payback to him is to have him robbed. I'm sure you were well aware he always carries a gun, and would use it. Peoples lives have been destroyed because of you. Ya he cheated on you and that is not right. There are much better ways to deal with it than setting it up to have him robbed. Now i understand why you keep telling me this is all your fault. Your right it is and you should be much harder on yourself, you should be the one sitting in jail, or the kid who no longer has a dad. You should of been the one who got shoot. Oh ya your a nurse and you were one of the first to see tim after he was shoot. maybe if you helped him instead of you running and hiding, he would still be alive.

tnesa niehoff March 22, 2011 10:40 am (Pacific time)

I hope Misty got what she deserved too!!!!!!!!!!! She had court on the 20th, I will be following up on her crazy as*. Did you guys shee there pictures after they were arrested!!!!! CRAZYY!!!!!!!! I can't believe someone would be willing to kill that many people over dope.. He will get his. Nobody worry about that.. Still won't bring back Tim but it will make a few people feel better.

anonymous September 24, 2010 6:57 pm (Pacific time)

Ok, very stupid to rob someone and especially with a fake gun. Obviously they just wanted Williams dope ,not his life... Jonathan is a piece of work.. You know I would possibly have a little bit of sympathy for him if he felt bad at all. He is just pist someone tried ripping him off. He was willing to murder 4 people that night over is dope. He does not feel bad you can see it in his eyes. Pure evil. He's mad he got caught.. O' and self defense is not shooting people in the back as they are running away from you. Sorry, idiot. Jonathan was willing to murder anybody over his dope. They went there to rob him, shame on them. But they did not go there with the intent of KILLING him..... I hope he spends the rest of his pathetic life in prison getting what he derserves everyday for the rest of his days.

Jesse September 17, 2010 4:01 pm (Pacific time)

I knew Timmy when he was a young kid, I tutored him in grade school. I ran into him in prison when he got older, I was there too. All I have to say is that his killer will have a VERY hard time in jail. Timmy had many friends that are still there and arent going anywhere soon. Enjoy solitary for the rest of your days Johnathon. Also, Heather my condolences go out to you and your family.

Long time friend September 16, 2010 12:38 pm (Pacific time)

Kids Mother and Best friend with sis September 11, 2010 7:51 pm (Pacific time)

I agree, many people lost a part of them when that poor decission was made. But that is the first I have heard about a fake gun. Williams had all this time to think about what he was going to say, that is all he came up with. We are talking with detectives and get updates constantly that is the first time I have ever heard of that. Anyway, it will all come out in the trail and I hope he is feeling bad and sorry and not just a cold bloded killer. If he is not sorry and still thinks he was in the right then may he spend the rest of his life in prison. My daughter is completely devistated, she crys through out the day, she is having a hard time understanding how somebody could do this to her daddy. She loved him very much and always had hope that someday he would pull it together. All hope for that was taken away from her by Williams. I feel for his family also(Willaims) I know you guys lost him that night too. May this teach people a lesson. Dope is EVIL!!! Kids stay away and never touch that SHIT!!!!!!!!!!

DDDR. August 19, 2010 5:37 pm (Pacific time)

Well to start all people involved are suffering from the poor desisions made that night, although the facts still stand. Jonathan Williams was acting in self defece!! (For those that dont know the law on self-defense, well here it is.) SELF-DEFENSE A defense to certain criminal charges involving force (e.g. murder). Use of force is justified when a person reasonably believes that it is necessary for the defense of oneself or another against the immediate use of unlawful force. However, a person must use no more force than appears reasonably necessary in the circumstances. Force likely to cause death or great bodily harm is justified in self-defense only if a person reasonably believes that such force is necessary to prevent death or great bodily harm. The Right To Protect One's Person And Property From Injury. Jonathan Williams was only protecting himself from what he reasonably believed to be a life and death situation. Timothy Long met Jonathan with intent to rob him, and that is a fact. Well I am thinkin that maybe Tim should have thought things through a little better. Tim had a airsoft/paintball gun that looked real enuff to get him killed. What about the resident of the house where the drug deal was to have taken place??Jeremy Barnhill told police that he had contacted Misty Williams to have methamphetamine delivered to him. Jeremy Barnhill, holds three prior convictions for drug-related offenses, including a felony conviction in June for the delivery of methamphetamine. Did he have no obligation to contact police when a man got shot and killed in his drive way. Did the thought ever cross anybodys mind that maybe Jeremy had something to do with setting this robbery up?? Well do a couple days on a probation violatoin and tell on your "friends" and go free. If the truth be known... Newberg Police Dept and several of there employees are under Federal Investigation. WHY??? Well they must have forgotton about The Constitution of the United States. They rely on people telling on each other and a suspect taking a plea bargin so they can get out of jail sometime in the next 18 months.

Tacoma, WA August 11, 2010 10:14 pm (Pacific time)

Nobody deserves to be killed no matter what the situation is or what was involved. To shoot someone in there back that is cowardly! the only fact that is relevant is that Jonathon shot Timmy! to loose someone to prison is a totally different lose then death!Timmy was loved by many and will deeply be missed! Rest in peace!!!!!May god speed Timmy Long!!!

Anonymous August 11, 2010 9:41 pm (Pacific time)

timmy you didnt deserve what happend to you and may justice be served i cant believe your gone you will be missed!!

Tugboat August 10, 2010 12:03 pm (Pacific time)

Tim was a very good friend of mine. I love him like a brother. Heather and parents o am sorry for your loss. I wish I could say that this will all end here but we all know it won't. Wsg

anonymous August 7, 2010 1:21 am (Pacific time)

i think maybe you should all listen a little to cop haters comment, did anyone stop to get all the facts? would some of you be surprised to find out that tim had a airsoft/paintball gun that looked real enuff to get him killed by a man that didnt want to get robbed? ya sure one tweek robbing another because he felt so shorted on a previuos deal that he found it necesary to use a firearm (fake or not)to get even, why dont they just tell it like it was so we can really find out who started it anyway? have they really been able to hide this info too? that doesnt sound like cold blood to me, bottom line is both had intent to commit a drug crime (trafficking a controlled substance) both went looking armed with a gun, but only one went with intent to rob, the other was caught by surprise. i dont know about you but if someone stuck a gun in my face and said gimme your valuables (in this case money and drugs) i wouldnt think it was a fake gun, all i would hear is blah blah gimme your life blah blah as i reached for my gun.------------------ jonathon has a family and friends too, nobody wanted this to happen. but we are americans raised to believe we have the right to defend what we feel is ours. its our society at fault when our childeren grow up to beleive that drugs have the same value as life and freedom, they both lost those that morning, we lost alot more if we believe only what they tell us and dont see for ourselves.

Hiep August 6, 2010 1:22 pm (Pacific time)

Heather-I am very sorry to hear about your brother's loss. Please send my deepest sympathy to your family. Tim is in my prayer.

You broke my childhood best friend's heart by killing her brother. I grew up with Heather and Tim, may God forgive you because I don't.

Anonymous August 5, 2010 11:54 am (Pacific time)

Ya I guess the police are now saying it was about drugs: http://alturl.com/2fzki. This is so terrible, especially that something like this would happen in a small, nice town like Dundee, you kinda wouldn't expect it. Kids, don't do drugs!!!

tim's kid's mother August 3, 2010 5:33 pm (Pacific time)

Everbody has went through hard times but no one deserves to die like that. He was murdered in cold blood, over what dope???? Did any tweeker stop to think he had a loving mother, sisters and a brother as well as a kid??? The man that did this will have a lot of time to think about what he did in prison.. I hope he didn't have any kids of his own. He has put a big impact on alot of peoples lives including people that loved him and cared about him. Willams is a coward, nobody can just fight with fists like a man they have to shoot somebody. WOW!!!!! What a pussy.... He knew he would have got his ass kicked. Tim may you rest in peace.

cop hater. August 3, 2010 3:25 pm (Pacific time)

it took police over an hour to find him lying dead in the drive way of a house that jonothons and his wife were visiting, that also happened to have two vehicles left with multiple doors left open, all of this also just happens to also be right next to a well known drug house and dead center of there ten block radius, that isnt the only thing that is odd.they keep mtelling the familly that tim was shot once throughthe chest but other people that were there but not charged said that he was shot 5 times.and the funeral home wont allow the familly to view him.

Kathy S August 3, 2010 9:06 pm (Pacific time)
