Unidentified Body Found Along Willamette River

Death investigation

(MCMINNVILLE) - On Saturday, April 19th, 2014, the body of an unidentified male was found along the banks of the Willamette River in Yamhill County. The body was located several miles downriver from the Wheatland Ferry crossing.

Due to the state of advanced decomposition, the identity of the person has not yet been determined. A preliminary examination of the body done by personnel at the Oregon State Police Forensic Services Laboratory has been conducted, and a partial description of the victim has been established.

The victim is a man between the ages of 20 and 30 years old at the time of death. He is of possible Hispanic or mixed Caucasian/Hispanic descent and his height is approximately 5 feet, 6 inches. The male has been deceased for 6 to 24 months.

The cause/manner of death have not yet been determined, and investigators currently believe the body washed up at its Yamhill County resting place from an as-yet-unknown location up the Willamette River. The Oregon State Police Forensic Services Laboratory continues to run tests to assist in identification of the body.
