Apr-30-2009 18:28TweetFollow @OregonNews Iran's Ahmadinejad Calls West's Claims of Democracy 'Sheer Lies'Tim King Salem-News.comAddressing the UN conference, Ahmadinejad criticized the creation of a "totally racist government in occupied Palestine" in 1948, calling it "the most cruel and racist regime."
(SALEM, Ore.) - Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says the Western nations' claims of democracy are "sheer lies," citing the U.S. and Israel's boycott of the United Nations Anti-Racism Conference in Geneva. "The recent anti-racism conference in Geneva ...proved that the West's claims of freedom of expression and democracy were sheer lies," Ahmadinejad was quoted as saying. "All their claims about freedom of expression are nothing ... they had made several plans to prevent speeches at the Geneva conference," he added. It is interesting that the United States, a nation founded on the idea of among other things, slavery, would actually have what it takes to boycott a world racism conference. "Despite their cultural, economic and social dominance over the world, they are on the verge of collapse," Ahmadinejad said. He made the remarks during his visit to Shiraz, capital of Iran's southern province of Fars. On Monday, Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Hassan Qashqavi also criticized Western states for their intolerance at the Geneva conference. Intolerance of U.S. & Israel Western states were intolerant when hearing the similarities between racism and "Zionism" in the conference, Qashqavi said. According to Wikipedia, "Zionism is the international Jewish political movement that originally supported the reestablishment of a homeland for the Jewish People in Palestine." The political movement was formally established in the late 1800's by the Austro-Hungarian journalist Theodor Herzl. If you are a Muslim, then the Zionists are the people who today remain intent on driving Palestinians from land their families have owned in some cases, for centuries. It all began in 1948 with the formation of Israel. Ahmadinejad's speech at the Durban Review Conference on racism in Geneva on April 20th caused a turmoil and sparked walkout by dozens of European delegates. Addressing the UN conference, Ahmadinejad criticized the creation of a "totally racist government in occupied Palestine" in 1948, calling it "the most cruel and racist regime." Two State Solution In a recent appearance on "Meet the Press" last Sunday, the King of Jordan, Abdullah II bin al-Hussein, who is nothing less than a staunch ally of the United States, repeated over and over again to David Gregory that the only way for the world to achieve peace, particularly in the Middle East, is to implement a real and functional two-state solution that would grant the Palestinian people control over their own lives. Israel treats Palestinians very harshly and has refused to take down border crossing blockades at Gaza; crossings that Israel earlier said it would reopen. Western people are in the dark when it comes to the real problems in the world; the confusion will always be in place for some, but not all. Israeli people are good people, and Palestinian people are also good people. Regardless of perceived Biblical teachings, life has to be fair for all or there will never be peace. Is he Right? Iran's President's harsh assessment is not unexpected, and it also might not be very far off track. It seems clear that at least for now, the United States will go on protecting Israel and shielding the Jewish State from responsibility for its international acts of warfare. Each day, week and month that passes only compounds the problem. Surely the people of Israel want peace as a whole. However quiet they may be, there are plenty of Israeli's who hang their heads in shame over what happened, for example, to the innocent people of Gaza during the recent IDF attacks that killed over 1400. Israel showed no signs of restraint, and as this attack was underway over the end of last year and the beginning of this year, it was casually ignored by the U.S. government. And while FOX News and most of the others downplayed the severity of Israel's attacks, they continued to perpetuate the Western myth that Iran is developing nuclear weapons, as the country actually, by all reliable accounts, tries to develop nuclear power like other successful countries, and that Ahmadinejad denies the Holocaust, which is pure horse pucky. In fact Iran's government spent big bucks producing a multi part series on the Holocaust that aired on Iran's state television. His ongoing contention is that there were millions and millions of Muslims killed in WWII and they get zero recognition while the Holocaust is taught in schools, as it should be. It is just not inclusive of all of the problems and suffering of that war. Nuclear Lies But here is part two to that; I grew up in America always having strong sympathy for Israel because we, like the Soviet Union, were a nation brimming with nuclear weapons, while Israel was less developed and had no nuclear weapons. This always elicited more concern for Israel from Americans at large, I believe. The fact that it was a non nuclear country made Israel seem especially vulnerable. More concern meant more money for Israel; billions of dollars in hard earned U.S. taxpayer revenue was used to build Israel's secret nuclear weapon arsenal. Last May, President Jimmy Carter revealed to the world in a sentence, that Israel indeed had nuclear weapons, and not just a few. Hundreds of deadly nukes were pointed at Israel's neighbors. What country helped Israel amass their stockpile of "underground" nuclear weapons? Do I even need to answer that? (see: Carter Reveals Israel's Possession of 150 Nuclear Weapons - Tim King Salem-News.com) What kind of programs and opportunities could that money have bought for Americans? We'll probably never know, and the powerful Jewish lobby that largely controls U.S. politics will make sure it stays that way. One troubling part of this is that a a dissident Israeli nuclear scientist named Mordechai Vanunu, who worked on Israel's nuclear weapons program in the 1980's, defected to England where he contacted The Sunday Times of London, in an effort to alert the world about Israel's nukes. He got the word out, but was arrested by Israeli secret agents, kidnapped and transported from London back to Israel, where he served 20 years in prison. People in the Mid East know all about it, as do many Europeans. But American newsrooms apparently made a decision to blacklist the story about Israeli nukes. The most disturbing aspect of all, is that Israel used this position as a non nuclear entity over the years to gain great advantages against its neighbors in the world political arena. The Western media kept playing the right tune and as a result, ultra military aggressive Israel has only grown to be more hated in the world than ever. The media kept its head buried for years, but there are those even in the mainstream who dare to speak the truth. The biggest proponent of truth by my estimation and others, is MSNBC. They said, "Despite Israel's refusal to acknowledge its nuclear weapons status, its secret arsenal is an open secret that Israeli policy makers don't go out of their way to deny. From its beginnings in the mid-1960's, Israel's program has developed into one that rivals those of larger powers like France and Britain." This is the MSNBC map of Israel nuclear weapons sites. So the real story is that Israel has nuclear weapons when it proclaimed to the world that it doesn't, and Iran does not have an aspiring nuclear program. Today's Reality The Israeli attack on the people of Gaza was in response to alleged Hamas rocket attacks. Israel's death toll from the Hamas attacks and the fighting in Gaza combined, was 14. 4 of those deaths were blamed on Israeli friendly fire. The Israeli's kill at a retribution rate of 100 to 1 and they have absolutely no hesitancy in killing children; even specifically targeting schools. Also, Israel used White Phosphorus on the citizens of Gaza and that particular act should be condemned, along with their intensely hostile and deadly aggression toward civilians and schools. That was high on the agenda at the Racism Conference in Geneva, so the U.S. and Israel just bagged it. The good people of Israel who don't seek to further oppress the people who used to live on the land they now occupy, and the unfortunate Palestinians, need to keep working together toward a solution of peace. So far, the biggest thing on the radar scope is the United States' blatant, ongoing support of racism toward the people of Palestine. Tim: you were probably safer in Afghanistan than you are now after writing this article. :-)
If I were the president of a country, and watched the country next door to me get invaded, bombed and a million people killed, all on verified lies, and then watch another neighbor with mostly slingshots and fireworks get annihilated, well yeesh, what would YOU be thinking?
I dont like this guy either, and he should be watched I suppose, but to me, both sides have mental problems. Seems to be a pre-requisite before gaining power.
I think going back to "We the People" might be a good idea about now. Without mainstream media brainwashing tho.

Emperor: Of WHAt are YOU the "emperor ? Given that perverted attitude towards others, it must be even more "devilish" than reflected from your Malign remarks, maliciously wasting time, space, attention and patience to satisfy what is obviously a psychological malignity of some magnitude. "Evil Empire", indeed ! We still have some few who are perfectly willing to make one for any others, so long as their own precious personna are not in any danger of the same.

Funny. Israel tries to minimize casualties while Muslims have no problem targeting innocents.,
They also stockpile weapons/hiding in schools/Mosques yet cry like the little babies they are when something happens to them.
Editor: And you do what, make Israel look like a big monster? Facts speak for themselves, those schools were targeted and that is what Israel used as a lame excuse. You could argue to your death that terrorists were holding up inside the UN school, highly regulated by a large group of international citizens, but at the end of the day it has been proven that the school housed no terrorists, but plenty of defenseless little kids. I'll bet those kids did cry like babies when the IDF attacked them and melted the skin from their little bodies with willie pete. But that's OK with you because they're Muslim right? I fear it is too late for you to seek mental help; your heart is black. So, very sorry to read your remarks, I think they are a waste of our space, but some people are so devilsh that they deserve to be published, for exactly the opposite reason than they seek. .

Horse Pucky??? What's the color of the sky in this guy's world, because he sure isn't living in ours....The fact that he ignores the constant, inching of Iran to not just acquire nuclear weapons, but to destroy the United States, Israel, and Britain would be obvious to all those who watch Ahmadinejad and the Iranian clerics....Now enlisting Venezuela, and Russia's help in case they are bombed and remove oil from the world's table. MSNBC speaking the truth???? huh???? its an opinion rhetoric network with some facts thrown in like Obama's 100 day was today...other than that...pure drivel.
Editor: You're full of horse pucky too Paul, the word is out and more Western news agencies are beginning to follow suit. The grand lie has ended and people are figuring out what Israel is really about. I live in a country that at least allegedly, separates church and state. Israel is a religious state. There is hope, but it won't come from people like you who in all likelihood, support the murder of Palestinians and stealing their land. Iran isn't inching toward anything but more fear of Israel, and who could possibly blame them? Most rational minds also question why in the Hell Iran shouldn't be allowed to defend itself from Israeli's potential nuclear aggression.

Tim King wrote "a dissident Israeli nuclear scientist named Mordechai Vanunu" and that he " served 20 years in prison" Vanunu was not a scientist-he was a technician in the Dimona who suffered a crisis of conscience when he figured out what he was a cog in the making of WMD and he shot the photos to prove it. Vanunu was imprisoned for 18 years sentenced for treason and released April 21, 2004 but he is denied the right to speak to foreigners and leave the state. The current 'blacklisting' against Vanunu has been the media shield against reporting on his Freedom of Speech trial, conviction and appeal which is imminent fighting 3 more months in jail for speaking to foreign media in 2004. 2005, 2006, 2008 video interviews with Vanunu and text interviews @ VANUNU ARCHIVES: http://www.wearewideawake.org/ PS-I produced "30 Minutes With Vanunu" and "13 Minutes with Vanunu" because corporate media has been MIA all during a Freedom of Speech Trial in Israel.
