Safety Town and Cautious Kids Program Registration Begin Monday

(SALEM) - Registration for the Salem-Keizer School Districts popular summer safety programs begins Monday.

Two different programs are offered: Safety Town and Cautious Kids.

Safety Town, for ages 4 and 5, is an eight-day program covering the major areas of early safety education.

It features a miniature town, complete with streets, intersections, crosswalks and buildings.

Cautious Kids, for ages 6 and 7, teaches children pedestrian, personal, animal and water safety skills. They will also learn and practice bicycle safety skills.

Registration forms will be available at the above web address starting on Monday.

Also, both programs are looking for teen volunteers.

Has anyone noticed that these kids are not wearing helmets? My daughter did this two years ago and they re-enforced the need for helmets but it surprises me how often I see this program offered showing pictures of kids without them.
