(PORTLAND AP) - The administrator of the Oregon Liquor Control Commission resigned today, five days after being after being arrested and charged with drunken and reckless driving.

Authorities sasy Teresa Kaiser's blood-alcohol level was measured at twice the legal limit for driving.

A spokesman for Governor Kulongoski says Kaiser e-mailed her resignation to members of the O-L-C-C board of directors this morning.

A police report says responded to a two-car accident on the west end of the Sellwood Bridge Saturday night and smelled "a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage" from inside the vehicle. The report says she admitted having two glasses of wine over five hours at the home of friends.

Kaiser's e-mail told the board: "Due to circumstances that I deeply regret, I am resigning as executive director of the commission."

Kaiser assumed the post in September, 2003.

Oregon is one of 18 "control" states for liquor, which means the state owns the beverages at some point in the distribution process.
