(SALEM) - A Salem man safely landed his experimental plane Monday night in a Linn County sheep pasture after his plane`s propeller fell off. Linn County Sheriff Tim Mueller says the plane, piloted by 33-year-old Jeffery Trembly was on final approach to the Albany Airport just before 6:00 PM, when the propeller came off of the plane at approximately 1000 feet. Trembly was able to turn the plane, and safely land in the sheep pasture. The sheep were a little excited by the plane, but none were injured. A passerby recovered the plane`s propeller, and returned it to Trembly. Mueller says that it appeared that the bolts holding the propeller to the plane had sheared off. The FAA was notified of the incident. Articles for April 24, 2006 | Articles for April 25, 2006 | Articles for April 26, 2006 | Quick Links
