(Manzanita, Oregon) - Oregon State Police (OSP) troopers are continuing the investigation into the cause of a Saturday night single vehicle serious injury traffic crash that occurred in Nehalem Bay State Park in Tillamook County. According to OSP Sergeant Greg Plummer, on April 23, 2011 at 9:03 p.m. a trooper and area emergency personnel responded to a reported single vehicle serious injury crash in Nehalem Bay State Park. Preliminary investigation indicates a 2002 Ford Focus driven by Yvonne Elissa Perrone, age 29, from Nehalem, crossed the centerline on the roadway, lost control and slid sideways into a tree. Perrone sustained serious injuries and was initially transported from the scene by Manzanita Ambulance to a location on Highway 26. She was transferred to a LifeFlight helicopter and taken to Oregon Health & Sciences University hospital. Perrone was wearing safety restraints. OSP was assisted at the scene by Manzanita Ambulance, Tillamook County Sheriff's Office, Manzanita Police Department and Nehalem Bay Fire & Rescue.
