Israel to Christians: Christ is a Monkey on a Cross

Show host to monkey depicting Jesus on the cross - "You are a Nazi, Yeshu (Jesus), you are a Nazi".

(SALEM) - So, a slutty Israeli TV show features a chick in a skimpy bikini mocking Jesus Christ by showing him as a stupid looking monkey hanging on a cross. Then using the 'f' word, she proceeds to tell Jewish viewers that Christians, we 'goyam', are 'dangerous' toward Jews. From there, it gets much worse.

We aren't making this up; this is Israeli television being widely viewed today. The show is called, "The History Program of Toffee the Gorilla". Anyone who advocates for this should not write a comment, instead they should consider ripping their heart out and sticking it in a jar; (it would have equal purpose and someday doctors could study it and perhaps determine what the hell is wrong with you)

Host: "I came to talk about the highlights of the history of the Jewish people - from times past until today. Today we will learn about he crucifixion of Yeshu. Have you heard about Yeshu?"

Host: "No, Yeshu was an enemy of the Jewish people. He attempted to convert us all into Christians. Although there are good Christians, to the Jew this is a terrible danger, a threat to the peace of the Jewish people".

Host: Do you even know what it is to assimilate? It means to get fucked up with a goyah; this is something that neither me or you, obviously, want.

(Later in the show, the host tells the monkey that if he really wants to understand Jesus, he would have to act out the scene. Soon the mockery of Christ goes into third gear, as she gets out a hammer and literally nails the monkey to the cross.")

He is screaming, further mocking the agony of Jesus as he was crucified. Then she tells the Jesus Monkey.

This video from a popular Israeli TV show is a great indicator of Israeli
regard for the Christian faith.

So all of you who tell me how bad I am for the articles I write about Israel, let's hear your defense for this one. Come on, you guys who wrote all of that horrible shit last week about the murder of our friend Vittorio Arrigoni in Gaza, and the week before about the murder of Juliano Mer-Khamis in Jenin.

I live in Jerusalem and concur with others who have said that the intent of the sketch is being (intentionally) misunderstood and actually self-mocks Israelis/Jews on several levels (desire to move abroad and desire to assimilate among some, simplistic nationalism among others) much more than Christianity, and secondly that this show is unknown in any event (this is the first I've heard of it). later searches include much criticism of the general idea of it, which is fit more for Italian TV. :-)

How sad that the true focus of this has been missed. It is not about Jews and Christians, it is all about Jesus, the Messiah. The "Son of David" has already come to Earth. the video is repulsive in the extreme. But it has gone forward without, as far as I can see, any effort to clarify its origins. . A google search shows the "Mocking Jesus" video aired at least before 2005 rather than, as suggeted in this and the many other posts now jamming the internet, around 'Easter this year. It has been periodically dredged up to fuel outrage. Whether this video was actually shown on Israeli TV is unclear. A Palestinian source says it appeared on BIP (also BEEP) TV, a commercial Israeli comedy channel defunct as of the end of 2010. I cannot find verification of this on the internet. Another report says it was part of a series on a Flix website. If it did not appear on Israeli TV, then it is just another stupid, repulsive youtube/flix video made in some fool's basement. The alacrity with which it has been seized upon, without any journalistic due diligence, is troubling.

I know that video has upset you and I haven't liked it too, but try to understand that jews has suffered from you know whom....can you contact the show producers to tell them know you are hurt. It's not good to mock anyone according to Judaism. Just try to understand that that show was not for Christians to watch and Israelis sometimes can be rude, but they are honest. Also the quality and humor of the tv show is up to the perspective of the tv show-makers. Digital special effects does NOT equal high quality despite what American films show. The message went across perfectly without being distracted by 3D glasses, or whatever else. That is the point of a show. To get its message across. And to entertain and educate, in this case. Education and communication was the intents of the invention of the tv, by the way. Not American advertisement and sitcom shows. The quality and humor and style depicted in this show is remeniscent of the 'educational show' in the movie "Mrs. Doubtfire", right up to the talking puppet monkey. I was both entertained and educated. That's what you fear the most. Not the satire, so much.

10% of Jews in America are religious (and under 30% in Israel). I absolutely guarantee you that any Orthodox Rabbi

Here are some facts that you conveniently left out. Most important: 1. There are many offensive and derogatory things shown on Israeli television. Shows mocking Judaism usually go much further than you can imgagine. This is not state-produced but private production allowed by the state and its laws of freedom of expression. Hate what is said but don't pass defend the right to say it even if it is in bad taste. And most definitely, do not pass it off as made, shown or supported by the Israeli government and its people. 2. This show is a stupid, late-night show, with low ratings, and is extremely tasteless with constantly stirring up controversy over it's objectification of women other idiotic stunts. This only represents Israel's die-hard freedom of expression laws which also allow for Arab-Israelis to openly call for Israel's desctruction and even support for her enemies.
