Clinton Campaign Says Momentum is Growing in Oregon

(SALEM, Ore.) - On the eve of the pivotal Pennsylvania primary, the Clinton Campaign today announced the addition of 20 prominent Oregonians -- including 10 women elected officials -- to Hillary Clinton's Oregon Steering Committee.

These local leaders will help guide the campaign's grassroots outreach across Oregon.

The endorsements come on the heels of Hillary’s visit to Oregon and the campaign’s efforts to reach out to voters across the state.

"These community leaders have had the opportunity to see both candidates in Oregon up close, and they have chosen to support the candidate who spoke to Oregon’s issues, who understands Oregon’s needs and who has the experience to work with our state to get things done," said Josh Kardon, Chair of the Oregon Steering Committee.

"The more Oregonians hear about Hillary’s ideas for our state, the stronger her support grows."

"I am thrilled that these respected community leaders have chosen to join my campaign and help carry our message to the people of Oregon," said Clinton.

"With their help, we can set about tackling the challenges facing Oregon and our nation."

No doubt all the candidates out there can be tied to bad characters. It appears that the combat going on between Clinton and Obama is going to pull many skeletons out of their respective closets. Their primary supporters will probably not let any negative info alter their support, but it sure will bring some general election issues to the forefront. Obama has been the biggest loser so far, but time will tell. I would not be surprised if some violence starts up, hopefully not. But he was losing rural counties outside of Pittsburg and Philly by her getting around 65% of the vote, so recent revelations (theory) about Obama did not help. Both of them are getting union support, but Obama has lost much of his lustre, and I believe more bad info may be coming out via Clinton. It's a mess, no matter who you support. Has anone taken the time to look at what the popular vote would be if all 50 states are counted? Florida and Michigan would give her the lead, so any info that harms a candidates ability to do well in the general election will start influencing the super-delegates. Things will get ugly in June. Then you will have some upset people who will simply not vote in November, or they'll vote for someone else. Please note she won by a huge margin in Oklahoma, but the governor there recently endorsed Obama. Also Senator Casey of Pennsylvania who supported Obama, lost big time (Obama did) in the counties that let him win his senate seat. Union influence is very important to the democratic party, but they have been divided somewhat, which will cause them considerable harm if they don't back a winner. Who will that be? Lot of spin out there, so that's why I say look at the [voting] demographic internals.

Charlie et al: Au contraire re Penn. NYTimes cites his boast to B/M staffers he will continue his strong relation and influence if H. is elected, despite denials from Clintons. Given recent spate of such denials from H/B, will wager he is still in dangerous position for further general mischief; he is too strong for them to discard, with ties to huge dollar-and-influence pool via B/M PR-firm he heads. How do you suppose H/B got all those dollar-harvesting contacts and speech/meetings et al situations ?? !! That's how it is worked these days...

It appears Mark Penn is no longer relevant. Also doesn't Clinton have various union endorsements? I agree that employees should be allowed to vote for creating/belonging to a union as long as it includes a vote done via a secret ballot. The Pennsylvania primary that was held the other day, when you look at the different internal demographic patterns may end up being more significant as the days unfold until the next primary. Also in terms of the general election, the so-called battle states, including the large red states don't look very good for Obama. Just an observation, plenty of time left to see many changes, good or bad, depending on your candidate preference.

To all: Mark Penn, notorious as union buster via heading up world-famed Burson- Marsteller PR firm, has just been forced out as Hillary main adviser.
