(HOUSTON, Texas) - Police in Houston say a hostage has been shot and killed in the standoff at the Johnson Space Center. Another hostage was released unharmed.

The gunman is also dead. Police believe he died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The weapon used was a revolver. Police are not saying what the relationship may have been between the gunman and hostages.

Police are not yet identifying the hostages.

The hostage who went free was a female. The hostage who died is a male. Paramedics are presently working with the freed hostage who may have received some injuries, but were considered minor.

The gunman apparently entered Building 44 during a meeting that was going on in the building.

Perturbed: Yr insights match much ongoing research in communications and education. When we start using capital expenditures as wisely for social-economic demands as for war across the worlds, we may see something better. That's strictly up to voters when they face decisions. We've made enough obvious errors-there to guide us in what must come next to restore "the will of the people".

Is it just me, or is something very fundamentally wrong in today's society! This can no longer be the first idea that seriously unstable people choose in dealing with emotional/mental illness! I challenge everyone out there to raise your children differently! No more Steady Diet of Violence inextricably mixed with Misogynistic/Abusive content. There is nothing sexy or cool about a high body count in games played by young formative minds, don't tell me there is no corellation, we see it on the news every sad pitiful time another person goes literally ballistic.....enough!My sympathies go out to everyone hurt by these senseless tragedies.
