Investigation Leads to Drug Arrests in Scio

Leslie Loren Hilderbrand and Timothy Grover Points were arrested by Linn County drug officers after two different search warrants were served in Scio

(SCIO) - Linn County drug officers surrounded a Scio home Wednesday armed with a search warrant, believing the residence to be a place of ongoing drug activity.

Linn County Sheriff Tim Mueller says his detectives, along with the Linn Drug Task Force, executed the search warrant at 41959 Kingston-Lyons Drive near Scio, "This warrant was a follow-up to a search warrant served at the same residence by the Linn County Sheriff's Office, the Linn Drug Taskforce and the Marion County Sheriff's Office on February 8th." The sheriff says the February search warrant was a response to more than a year of investigation into extensive drug activity at the Kingston-Lyons address, the home of 50-year old Leslie Loren Hilderbrand.

"Information leading to this search warrant was provided by numerous concerned citizens, as well as information gathered by investigators from the Linn County Sheriff's Office, the Marion County Sheriff's Office, Stayton Police, Aumsville Police, and the Central Oregon Drug Enforcement Team."

Mueller says the February search warrant resulted in the seizure of cocaine, methamphetamine, scales and packaging materials consistent with a drug sales operation.

"Additionally, more than a dozen people were present at Mr. Hilderbrand's residence during the execution of the February search warrant. Many of those present either had controlled substances in their possession or admitted to purchasing or using controlled substances at Hilderbrand's residence."

After the February search warrant, Mueller says it became apparent that the narcotics activity at Hilderbrand's residence had not slowed down. The investigation into the activity at the residence continued, leading to Wednesday evening's search warrant, which yielded additional evidence of continued drug sales, including marijuana, suspected cocaine and suspected methamphetamine.

Loren Hilderbrand and 47-year old Timothy Grover Points, were both arrested on outstanding warrants stemming from the February search warrant. Hilderbrand was lodged at the Linn County Jail on charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine), Possession of a Controlled Substance (Cocaine), Possession of a Controlled Substance (Schedule IV), Delivery of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine), Delivery of a Controlled Substance (Cocaine), and Manufacture of a Controlled Substance (Cocaine). He was lodged in the Linn County Jail on $100,000.00 bail.

Timothy Points was lodged at the Linn County Jail on charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine), Possession of a Controlled Substance (Schedule II), and Delivery of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine). He was lodged in the Linn County Jail on $100,000.00 bail.

A third subject present at Hilderbrand's residence during the execution of the search warrant Wednesday evening, 31-year old Kathy Arlene Russell was arrested on outstanding warrants out of Marion County. Russell was transported to the Marion County Jail.

The Linn Drug Taskforce consists of detectives from the Albany Police Department, the Lebanon Police Department, the Sweet Home Police Department and the Linn County Sheriff's Office.
