Fatal Head On Crash at Oregon's Sand Lake

(CLOVERDALE, Ore.) - The Tillamook County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a head on crash between two sandrail recreational vehicles at the top of the first bowl in the Sand Lake Recreational area near Cloverdale Oregon.

Deputies were called to the scene at about 1:45 p.m. and found that two sandrail dunebuggy type vehicles appear to have crashed head-on.

Early information is that there were no injuries in the first vehicle.

The driver of the second vehicle was found deceased on scene, and the front passenger was transported by Life Guard Helicopter to OHSU with life threating injuries.

The back passenger of this vehicle was transported by Tillamook Regional Ambulance to Tillamook Regional Medical Center with serious but non-life threating injuries.

There is no other information available about their current conditions.

At this time, alcohol does not appear to have been a factor. The investigation is continuing at this time and additional Updates/information will be added when that information becomes available.
