Apr-19-2012 21:22TweetFollow @OregonNews Sgt Bales Hearing: A Kangaroo Court Inquisition by Officers from their BarDr. Phil Leveque Salem-News.comIt appears that the Army Doctors have already been selected and told CONVICT THIS MAN!
(MOLALLA, OR) - The Associated Press printed a short article about a SANITY BOARD HEARING for Sgt Robert Bales and that his civilian attorney John Henry Browne had advised him not to participate based on his Fifth Amendment rights. This is appropriate in view of the Army’s motto “Rank is always right”. From the viewpoint of enlisted men in cases like this “Rank is always Rancid” with NO empathy for an enlisted man no matter the circumstances. Before someone asks me “What do you (me) know about it?” Well I know plenty, I was Court-Martialed and fined 6 weeks pay for capturing German soldiers while I was out of uniform. I was shaving a 5 day beard before I got Court-Martialed for that when I saw three German soldiers approaching my outpost a mile ahead of the lines. I had to stop them which I did. My Battalion C.O. drove up. “Where is your shirt, helmet, and coat?” “In the house sir, where I was shaving.” “Go get them, disarm them, and send them back.” That afternoon I was ordered back to Battalion, confined to quarters in a battle zone, and eventually Court-Martialed and fined 6 weeks pay and had all pay restricted for 3 months. I can see Sgt. Bales being screwed in the same way. His attorney requested to be present at the Sanity Board Hearing which was denied along with a recording of the hearing and his request for a neuro-psychologist on the Board. This smells really fishy to me. It appears that the Army Doctors have already been selected and told CONVICT THIS MAN! Major Chris Ophardt, base spokesman at Ft. Lewis says the Board is NEUTRAL and non-adversarial and it would not be appropriate to have a neuro-psychologist on the Board. I would presume that the best trained and experienced PTSD/TBI physician, considering multiple tough deployments, would be key to these proceedings. I guess maybe not as long as the motto “Rank is always Right” is always maintained. AS A FORMER ENLISTED MAN I’M EXPECTING A HAND JOB (ARMY EXPRESSION!) !!!______________________________________________________

PTSD or no this man should stand trial for what he is accused of. Although the military turns a blind eye to the needs of our soldiers, there is still an element of personal responsibility here.
