Patrick Swayze Gravely Ill But Very Much Alive

One source reports that Swayze has been undergoing pioneering Cyberknife radiotherapy at California's Stanford University Medical Centre, and had been making a steady recovery from the illness.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Friends, family and fans of actor Patrick Swayze, are holding back tears over the news that the cancer he has been battling, has spread to his liver.

Remembered for his starring and supporting roles in numerous films, he may best be remembered for his roles in The Outsiders, Dirty Dancing, Red Dawn and Ghost.

He's also a fantastic dancer, and I think his best role ever was as Bodie in Point Break.

Swayze was told in January that his pancreatic cancer is terminal, and he has started preparing for death, accordin to reports.

"Patrick recently got word that the cancer had spread to his liver and that is what his doctors said would begin the countdown to the end," a source told National Enquirer magazine.

It isn't just that Patrick Swayze is famous, he is loved by millions and his performances are memorable and historic.

"At times, he was so weak that he could barely walk without feeling faint. Sometimes he feels out of breath and has to sit down."

Reports indicate that the 56-year old actor told Lisa, his wife of 33 years, Lisa, and his brother Donny, that he doesn't have long to live.

"Lisa phoned Donny in Los Angeles and told him he need to come to Chicago, where Patrick has been filming TV show The Beast. She was crying and scared Donny to death," the National Enquirer.

"He has finished filming The Beast in Chicago, where he has been putting in 12-hour days. He went to a party earlier this week to celebrate with Lisa and Donny," the agency reported.

"I'm still fine to work, I haven't changed - oh, I have changed, what am I saying? It's a battle zone I go through. Chemo, no matter how you cut it, is hell on wheels," he told The New York Times.

I know you will be there for all you know and love when their time comes, but keep that positive attitude, laugh and be happy, that could very well be your cure. My sister has cancer of the stomach , had surgery, chemo and it has been 5 yrs. She stays positive and happy and the doctors are amazed. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I believe that there are natural cures out there for cancer and other diseases but the fda wont approve of it because they wont make any money off of it. I wish Patrick S. Wouldnt give up on his battle, they arent God.

Patrick, What Cancer cannot do: It cannot take your memories, it cannot stop love, it can't stop your heart from dancing. If you can live through chemo.. than you know it's a personal hell no one can relate to unless it's happened to them. Love conquers. Cancer can't take your determination. It's funny how someone we'll never meet can affect us so much. In a sense, we all know Patrick, without really knowing him at all. I'm not a sensitive person, but thinking about his situation get's me depressed, almost teary. My Dad died of Pancreatic Cancer, two weeks after diagnosis. I am so sorry for what your going through. Throughout my life I have been given the gift of insight from angles - spirits - whatever you wish to call them. I guess it must have been around a month ago that I was given a vision of Mr. Swayze. I won't say whether or not this vision was valid. Only Mr. swayze and his wife will ever know. But I lost a loved one to pancreatic cancer two years ago, and understand the battle. Maybe that's why I was shown this vision. Anyway, I don't really know of any other way to share the thing with the two - or just the one that needs to know most, but it is too precious and privileged to be kept to myself. The vision was really for Mrs. Swayze on behalf of her husband. Weird sounding I know. But the same thing happened when a friend lost her husband and his spirit sent me a message - later verified by the friend by the clothes he wore in the vision (same ones he transitioned this life in). In the vision of Mr. Swayze, he had transitioned this life and was trying to communicate to his wife. Sometimes I am privy to private moments and sometimes the angle or spirit will speak to me directly. He was sending her a song "Save The Last Dance For Me" (I'd never heard the version I was shown in this vision but a family member had it on their I-Pod and played it and it matched.) The big thing - beyond the beautiful song and sentiment was the overwhelming sense of peace and joy his spirit exuded. His message was that he would always be with her. Pretty awesome. I always feel a little embarassed by such a thing - but truly lovely for her and for him. Something I know I'm supposed to share - just don't know how to do so, so I just popped it up on this board thing. But what the hell - things are what they are. Sometimes we have no idea what is in our world that we know deeply - but can't explain. Good speed and peace to them both. Blessed be your transition.

My mom just passed away from pancreatic cancer last friday. she was first diagnosed 31 years ago and had a whipple procedure done and it came back in december. my mother was a fighter!! dont give up hope! doctors told her 31 years ago, she had a 2% chance of surviving for more than 5 years!! rest in peace momma!!

Not to be a sour grape. But, my sister past away this past summer from Pancreatic Cancer. She was diagnosed in January of 2008 and died on June 29, 2008. The cancer spread to her liver as well. I have agree with Patrick, the chemo therapy is hell, because I remember my sister when they increased the dosage it was down hill from then on. During that time she developed jaundiced and her kidney's failed. We miss us, but know that she is well taken care of.
