Apr-13-2010 15:01TweetFollow @OregonNews Amber Alert Issued for Kidnapped 14-Year Old California GirlOfficials waited more than 6 hours to issue the Amber Alert because they were taking time to corroborate the story of a second girl who was also abducted.
(LIVE OAK, Calif. ) - The State of California issued an Amber Alert late Monday night after a girl was reportedly kidnapped at Live Oak High School in Sutter County early Monday. Elvia Flores is a Hispanic female, 14-years old, 5' 2", 110 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a white shirt, blue jeans and white shoes. There are four or five male Hispanic suspects. CBS News Crimestoppers reports that Elvia and her friends were attacked by several men. "Flores yelled 'run' and the girls tried to flee. Hours later, the friend woke up in a field, remembering nothing, according to Sutter County Sheriff's Sergeant Glenn Mercer. Flores was gone," Crimestoppers reported. "The California Highway Patrol issued an amber alert for Flores late Monday night, CBS affiliate KOVR reports. Flores' mother told police she dropped her daughter and the friend, also 14, off at school before 8:30 a.m. Monday." The friend reportedly told investigators that she was grabbed from behind and pulled into a brown 4-door sedan with unknown plates. The suspects are allegedly four to five Hispanic men, say police. One suspect was reportedly wearing a black T-shirt and a black hat with orange or red letters spelling Nor-Cal. There are no descriptions of the other suspects. According to Crimestoppers, "Flores' friend told investigators she woke up in an open field in Orland, over 60 miles from Live Oak High School where she was attacked." TV station KOVR reported that a alifornia Highway Patrol officer picked her up and brought her to the Orland Police Department. "The girl told investigators she didn't remember what happened between the time she was allegedly abducted and when she woke up in the field." CBS says a CARE alert was issued just after 10:30 p.m. Monday. "Sheriff's officials said they waited more than six hours to issue an alert because they were taking the necessary time to corroborate the girl's story." Anyone with information is asked to call the Sutter County Sheriff's Department at 530-822-7307. Tim, it's all over the news now. I'm quoting: 'Flores "actually walked away from the high school" and had sent a text message to a boyfriend to pick her up. He said witnesses saw Flores get into a car north of the high school that morning.' news10.net/news/story.aspx?storyid=79377andcatid=2
Tim King: Natalie, thanks for making sure that this was straight; I should have checked it out! Thanks so much,.

Well, the girl ran off with her boyfriend. Just wondering who's gonna be responsible for the cost of this adventure...
Editor: Natalie, I don't think that is the case with this one. I hope you are right, but it sounds like it was much worse based on local reports. Again, hopefully you are right.
