(SALEM, Ore.) - The people behind Mavericks Restaurant in Salem say it is a great gathering place for family, friends and business associates. The venue is non-smoking and kid-friendly until 9:00 PM, and they serve from-scratch breakfasts, lunches and dinners.

Mavericks has live entertainment every Friday and Saturday night, some Thursdays as well. They also have in-house dining specials throughout the month.

In April the facility launches two new services: Delivered Business Box-Lunches and Event Catering, says owner Angie Lyles.

"We host in-house events such as banquets, workshops or meetings and we’ll work with you to create a menu design that fits your vision and budget. Catering options include on-site, pick-up or delivery. Check with our GM, Shelley, for a full list of services currently offered."

She says they also have a new menu offering – Garden Patties. "All of our regular sized hamburgers can be substituted with a garden patty, just ask! We also recently introduced 'Whopper Wednesdays' with HUGE items at 'pint-sized' prices – every Wednesday from 5:00 - 9:00 PM."

Lyles says that if you haven't found Maverick's yet they’re located at 3981 Commercial Street SE (in the same parking lot as the Northern Lights Theatre and Sharkey’s) – the cross street is Browning Avenue. They open Mon-Fri at 11:00 AM and Sat-Sun at 8:00 AM.

Maverick's offers full menus for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We’re kid friendly until 9:00 PM, non-smoking, wired for WI-FI and have a beautiful facility for parties, meetings, banquets or receptions with a 42’ dance hard wood dance floor.

Remember to check their entertainment calendar for the next few weeks, it is located below the special Salem-News.com Business Video Report on Mavericks by Bonnie King

Well ...there is a lot of good newer music that isnt hip-hop (which I do not care for).I am not necessarily talking about metal either. Music like Flyleaf..Sevendust..Sum 41 ..The Vines ...there is a lot of good music that isnt just gangster rap. Navymom..check out Flyleaf's "Fully Alive" ..bet youll like it.

Vic, what do you want? Hip Hop? Geez, I am 57 and even though hip hop may have that pulsating beat, the words suck! I still prefer country western, classic rock, and blues. That is music you can sing to and dance to.

I was excited about this till I read the music line-up. ...old music for old people. I am 51 myself, but am damn tired of having nothing in this area but blues and "classic" rock. Are we all really that tired and burnt out? Im not. Sounds like the owners are ambitious and have some great ideas. I would challenge them to have a little more upbeat and newer music occasionally.
