Man in Serious Condition After Driving off Embankment in West Salem

Paramedics say the man may have had a medical condition just prior to the accident. He was transported to Salem Hospital in serious condition.

(West Salem) - Crews from the Salem Fire Department responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident at Eola Drive NW and Andrea Drive NW, Tuesday at 5:35 PM.

Salem Fire Spokesman Bill Holmstrom says the 48-year old male was driving his Chevrolet Blazer when he went over a 6-foot embankment at the intersection of Eola and Andrea.

"Firefighter/Paramedics were able to extricate the victim within minutes of their arrival. He was the only person in the vehicle at the time of the accident."

Paramedics stated he may have had a medical condition just prior to the accident. He was transported to Salem Hospital in serious condition.
