(SALEM, Ore.) - A court ruling against Oregon's biggest tax foe, Bill Sizemore, will be upheld. Attorney General John Kroger applauds the news. “We are pleased that the Court of Appeals upheld the finding that Sizemore was in contempt,” Kroger said. Kroger continued, “We’re deeply committed to holding people accountable when they break the law.” The Court of Appeals affirmed a trial court determination that Sizemore “willfully violated an injunction that the court previously entered in the underlying case.” The ruling is available here: publications.ojd.state.or.us/A126231.htm For his part, Bill Sizemore, a Republican and Executive Director of Oregon Taxpayers United, cites having sponsored several ballot measures which have reduced taxes in Oregon by hundreds of millions of dollars. His success at reducing taxes has made him some very powerful enemies though, primarily the public employee unions and what Sizemore refers to as "big city newspaper editors" who he says have joined forces while waging what he calls "an inaccurate and unfair campaign to discredit him personally. The Oregon SOS Guide says those who know Bill Sizemore, however, know him to be not only an articulate spokesman, gifted leader, and advocate for the everyday taxpayer. Attorney General John Kroger leads the Oregon Department of Justice. The Department's mission is to fight crime and fraud, protect the environment, improve child welfare, and defend the rights of all Oregonians. Bill doesn't look too happy. He broke the law and defied anyone to do anything about it. No, no, bad dog.
